~~~~~Need for SPeed Pro Street non official thread~~~~~
Yeah I agree the demo is quite poor, only 1 race? Only 1 car? I mean c'mon they must be able to do better than that, doubt it's convincing a lot of people to buy it either.
And I mean, what happend to the whole street racing theme :S
theres 2 races and 2 cars.
And btw i agree that in racing terms for racing sim players like me, this game isnt what they made it out to be, they said it would have realistic physics etc which it hasnt.
But on the console side this is still a great game for some one to buy and race with a pad which is NFS series strong point.
er there were two races in the demo though I can undestand you missing the other as the menu made no reference to it. You had to hover the mouse over one of the tattoo/logo things and it appeared.
edit. even so, it was still dog excrement.
They wrecked it a long time before this. :(
not true
most wanted was a brilliant game
it was superbly pitched, involving and times highly frustrating when you had massive ammounts of police after you
there was nothing more amusing than chasing down the freeway at 150 followed by a load of police corvettes all trying to overtake you while you nailed it in your 220mph Gallardo (in my case)
The blacklist idea was brillaint too. Forcing you to get involved with the cops to get the necessary bounty etc..
most wanted was the pinacle imho
Carbon was too short, and far too samey.
I've played NFS since Hot pursuit 2, and think that HP2, Underground1 &2 are awesome.
Most wanted was good.
And carbon ruined it.
Haven't tryed this new NFS yet.
The older the nfs series get though, the less sence of speed I get :(.
do you need ridiculous pc specs to run this game?
i've got 2800xp+, 6800GT and 1gb ram and it runs like a pig
even with everything on low and running on a pathetic 800x600 it runs very slow..
i'm planning on formatting that pc very soon, but is this to be expected? :/
in one word yes, its EA. they wont of optimised it in the slightest for PC
although the CPU and GPU in your PC isnt exactly the fastest these days
Personally i love this game. I know its nothing like the previous NFS games such as MW and Carbon but you have to look at it from a different point of view. Its more of a simulation, and more realistic. It relates to the whole car moddings scence a lot more as a result of that.
I see it, this would encourage less chavs to think they can fly round trying to mimic things theyve seen in previous NFS titles. I like it a lot, especially the range of cars.
anyone got the full game yet? Not sure when it's out. Really would like to know if it's any better than the demo and whether the xbox 360 pad is properly supported.
I've been playing the full game, dont like it, demo seemed ok coz you had a fast car, I find it difficult to start up and really dont understand the game, first racing game I dont understand lol.
Cant believe how poor this game is :( really gone down the pan NFS titles!
Some screenshots anyway..
Quite compressed they were 5Mb so the image quality isn't ideally shown.
Is this the one where you can play against people online but not at the same time? Like race against their ghost cars or something?
Porsche Unleashed was the best though.
Absolutely right, I've said more than once that it is perhaps the best racing game ever and I think by now my most played game, bar none. I must have completed it at least 6 times on 3 different PCs so far and I'll probably do it all over again when I get a new PC.
I'll have to give the new game a try soon, I've completed every one in the series since Porsche 2000/Unleashed and none has really come close to the handling of that game. Most have had enough redeeming features to be worth playing through once at least though.
Aye I'm replaying Porsche 2000 now, greatest NFS game I ever had.
The last real NFS game.
