Need for Speed Shift - Time Trial Championship ** Season 3 ** (Multiplatform)

Hey Marine, sorry to hear that. It may be that your install has a problem, I'm not sure. However, there is definitely a part of this track (a little way into the curve section after the start line) that makes the car bounce around and hit the wall. Is that what you're experiencing, or worse?

Only thing I can suggest is perhaps sell the car and repurchase it, just to see if that clears any problems?

Yeah its all the way round, I'll go and sell it in a mo and see if that clears it I have had this before last season or the first one cant remember.

39's possible with the right setup, just a question of what type. Do you go low downforce to maximise straight line speed & manage the infield section as best you can, or
do you go high downforce for the infield section sacrificing straight line speed?
Of course you could try somewhere in the middle.

After a bit of tuning

Does everyone have that horrid bump which chucks the car off line & into the wall? As described by Merlin

Yep, there's a definite dip right there, catch it and it sends you into the wall.
I try to not turn the car so much at that point, I'm also on a higher line than the racing line, for me it seems to avoid that bump.

There's also another bump that sometimes throws my car off just as you enter the infeld section at the end of the long curved section. So I just momentarily let off the gas and it seems to help.

Nikaz, did you find any setting which reduces the oversteer on this beast?

some great times last week, only managed a quick go on sunday but could only get a 54:085...

first go this week, hopefully can make up some time and not end up last, lol...

I think I've found the cure for the car throwing bump. I've set front and rear sway bars fully left to soft, and now it seems fine, I can go around right on the racing line without so much as the slightest jump. That's with everything else at default.

edit:
Very ocassionally it bumps out of line (might be due to my new fast bump damper settings since posting this), but it's still much, much better now imo.
I've since changed front and rear damper fast bump to the middle to increase understeer, which seems to hold the car a bit easier around corners.

New time. 40's are currently eluding me, but only just.

That's ride height related Merlin. Set the rear 20 higher than the front. This also adds/promotes higher top speed on the banking section.

Nikaz, did you find any setting which reduces the oversteer on this beast?

Are you having corner entry (under braking) oversteer or corner exit (under acceleration) oversteer?

I've got ride height at defaults nikaz, which are both fully left at 85 front and 95
rear. Ill move the front to 75.

Mostly corner exit oversteer, such as the very last corner before it comes back out to the banking section. But tbh, I've sort of got it under control now for the most part, particularly when I'm warmed up.

Nikaz, did you see on the previous page that I'd calmed down the bumpiness with the sway settings, and increased understeer with damper fast bumps? What do you reckon to those settings. Seems to be helping.

On the second bump when you enter the infield section, try approaching this part from a deeper angle, so you drive straight over the bump not at an angle.

You could try increasing the rear -ve toe. This promotes straight line stability i.e. the rear wants to follow the front. Be aware though, too much & it will feel like understeer so you've gone too far.

Yeah I saw it. Your remedy is exactly what I was going to propose. Just wanted to check everyone was having the same issue before making the suggestion. Sometimes i.e. Marine, the game plays differently on different setups. I sometimes experience severe bouncing, normally rectified by exiting/ restarting the game. On this weeks combo I can't touch the curbs at all, pushes the front end to the outside, understeer if you like. I'm also suffering severe juddering (possibly front rear weight transfer) under throttle in 2nd & 3rd gears. It feels as though traction control is present.

Actually Nikaz, I just tried the the 75 ride height at front and - rear toe for while but didn't find them to be of any extra help so I put them back to default and just left the sway bars on full soft and maximum downforce 10 and 10 (which I've had since the start).

Anyways, I'm finally in the 40's ..

Thanks inam! I'm pinching myself, can't believe I'm actually in the top 4 let alone 2nd place, however short lived that may be. I'm sure one of you will displace me soon enough :p The hard work is paying off though and when I look at a video of myself of my first ever race in the scirocco on glendale west, driving terribly and really slow, it's like night and day the difference, lol.

Very slight improvement.

Good going Merlin, I'm the total opposite, 0 downforce, hard sways.

be interesting to see who's running high or lows

Very close week :)
