Need for Speed Shift - Time Trial Championship Season 3

Welcome to Season 3

Save Game File for those that need it, courtesy of Wedge.
Instructions: Download, unzip, rename the folder & the file (the Folder & File must have the same 'Name' BTW), copy it to "C:\Users\yourname\Documents\NFS SHIFT" folder

Rules:

  • To avoid any cheating, the car can be tuned and upgraded to whatever you want. (Unless a 'Works Converted', 'Stock', 'Reward' or 'Loaner' car is chosen)
  • Proof of the lap time will be provided in this thread by either screen shot (e.g. Fraps on PC) or camera shot for console users. This means that this tournament is open to all versions of the game on either PC or console.
  • Screen shots must be taken at the end of the session. Lap times will not be included from mid race as these times show illegal lap times where corner cuts may have been taken.
  • Lap must be set in Time Attack mode.
  • The highest ranking driver on the Weekly Event Leaderboard WITHOUT a nomination gets to choose the next Weekly Event Car/Track Combo. If for whatever reason the highest applicable driver cannot make a nomination in time, then the second highest ranking drivers' nomination will take effect & so on. Nominations are carried over from Season 2. Nominations will be made by e-mail to myself no later than 5pm Saturday. This is because people are eager to start playing and any delays are just plain irritating.
  • There is/are NFS Shift real mod(s) available for PC. THIS/THESE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. Console users will be disadvantaged by there use, so DON'T USE THEM PLEASE.
  • Remember we're here to have fun with a challenge thrown in for good measure

In addition to the Weekly Events there's a Bonus Event running alongside. This particular event is immune to deadline so will continue to run as long as this thread stays alive. Yeah, you guessed it THE NORDSCHLEIFE.
  • You can use any car you like for the Bonus Event be it from Tier 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  • You're welcome to participate in both the Weekly & Bonus Events or just pick & choose the Event(s) that suits you.
  • The Leaderboards for the Weekly Events will remain separate to the Bonus Event

That reminds me. Is this the track zytok was top for abit before he went to South America or something? Remember I/we used to refer to the driving on this circuit as 'zytok style'.
Where is he I wonder?

I might be able to go a 1.24 flat if I am a bit more carefull.. not sure about anything faster though.. atleast not without further tunning.

Nikaz.. I you break the 1.20... I am gonna quite alltogether :P

I'm in the 22's & haven't had a clean lap nor touched the tuning yet. So yeah, I'll deffo be hitting sub 20's as long as my game machine holds up.

Wedge I 100% know were you're coming from on this. I'd love to have a blast in a GT40, McL F1, Zonda etc. I'm sure someone will pick a super car, hope they pick a sensible track to go with it too to assist the New Comers, e.g. Silverstone GP has plenty of run off areas in case you go wide without wrecking your lap time & for the most part, straight.

Well all bar one week in Season 1 I've competed in all & have yet too see;
As you've stated 'The Ring' . We have got to do this at some point. Maybe the last ever Week whenever that may be.

The Tokyo circuit with the Tunnel. Good track if I remember correctly.

The other London track.

The various Dakota tracks. One of which reminds me of US F1 layout @ indy. Wide banking mixed with an infield section. Not that demanding though. Could be used in conjunction with a powerful RWD. I think the other variants are ovals

The rest are so short they haven't any noticeable straights. Hazyview 8 for example

No colour tuning here. Have you set the Time of Day to Dusk when you select track? If not, then it is probably your gamma setting.

So Consoles get extra content for £8.00. Us PC users have to cough up £30 for a new game that's probably nothing like Shift... sorry I meant Shaft.
NFS World is the PC game he's referring to, a crappy online only Carbon, Most wanted, Underground hybrid with no In-Car view in sight. Now tell me? How is that remotely like Shaft. And why is a game like this PC only? It's a bloody kids game for consoles primarily. Surely Carbon, Underground etc sold much better on consoles.
Out of touch idiots the lot of them.

OK. There's a little bit of history regarding this track, from Season 1 I think.
Basically, I was driving the track cleanly & sitting in first place. Then zytok jumped to the top with a blinding lap, bout 4-5 secs faster than second place claiming after watching my vid, if I adopted the same style (aka zytok style) I could go quicker than him. I continue to drive cleanly only cutting the rumble strip as much as the game will allow. I eventually re-take the lead only for the other drivers to adopt zytok style & beat me to first place. If I remember right inam22 won that particular week, but dedicated the win to me of sorts because I drove cleanly.

Right so what's this zytok style then?

Well, as you've noticed the cars are pretty much right-offs at the end of 5min session. This is due in the main to the hairpin at the end of the long straight. It's a street circuit so there are barriers marking the perimeter of the track. Use these barriers to your advantage by uh..mmm... hmmmm rubbing them. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Polite reminder:
I'll still need screen shots for 'The Ring' to prove lap-time OK.
I'll upload mine tomorrow. It's on my game machine which I've now turned off. Marines' time is carried forward from Season 2 where he produced a screen shot.

If you prefer to use Race Mode I haven't a problem as long as your screen shot is taken post race. Be warned, if you select 20 laps & do a blinder on your second lap, you'll have to go do the other 18 laps before you can take a screen shot.

Oh, if you have any idea's/ suggestions about the format for
'The Ring' fire away please.
At the moment it's set by Car Tier level. I thought about Car Rating but it's impossible to prove Car Rating with a post race screen shot.
Maybe we collectively vote for a car for each Tier & use those.
