^ Need for Speed Shift ^

It's also not a Simbin game but a Slightly Mad Studios game, formerly Blimey! who were formerly the Simbin development team for GTR1 and GTL..

Splitting hairs. You know what I mean when I say it is Simbin, whatever the devs are calling themselves nowadays it's the same people who made previous Simbin games.

you dont know anything about how good the game will be,

hypothetical scenario's are not worth wasting time on if they have no basis on the current discussion, you only bring that to the table as you have no basis for dismissing a product without factual information or hands on actual testing,,,

we understand you want this game to fail and your not happy it is in the NFS franchise, fine lets move along now ..

As I said, it could have lifelike graphics and stunningly realistic gameplay. It still fails as an NFS game because it is a sim on boring closed circuits, it has no street racing and it has no police chases etc.

If Gran Turismo 5 involved pimping out your tuner and being chased by the cops it might be a fun game but it wouldn't be Gran Turismo any more except in name. Catch my drift?

I'm guessing the guy playing on it is a novice so is on Easy mode or normal mode defiantly not hardcore. From the looks of things the gameplay seems similar to Grids arcade play/Forza on easy.

I hoping it will at least be all right I'm not expecting it to be a life changing game and against Forza 3 (rumoured to be coming soon) and erm... Gran Turismo? 2099? Well maybe not Gran Turismo then.

Good point: The car seem to have a weight and presence about it and the cockpit view angle is restrictive like it is on some other games (IE, 80% dashboard).

Bad point: Another game with AI that has no sense of you being there. He was hit from behind which really irritates me in racing games where AI is concerned. If you brake a nanosecond too early, they punt you off and get away with it.

If you on about the bit I think you're on about, he braked on a straight line. I'd say they was a good chance a real person would have gone into the back of him too.
When I'm sim racing online in order to race close you have to just trust the other drivers to not be hitting the brakes on straights etc when slipstreaming. I think in that case you can commend the AI. I'd rather they went into the back of me there than have perfect reactions :p

So is it right that it will be free to download and to play? Or will it be subscription based? If free, what do EA get out of it.

edit - I think you buy the game but playing online is free, obvious I suppose

Actually, looks like you're right. I'm too eagar to slate it because well.. you know... it's looking good /me runs for the hills.

Hopefully it has a lot of content for us to play with and a decent net code. I'm liking what I've seen so far.

lol at all the Fail posts...

hope this thread fails as the game looks excellent, PGR 4 clone on the PC would be nice ;)

Yeh. I hope it can be similar to Race07/GTREvo, but with much better graphics and a lot more people playing.
I hope it is nice and customisable.

Well i have seen damage on cars when they hit stuff. I remember a car in a vid going fast into a tyre wall so due to the tyres there it didnt do as much damage (realistic) so just the bumper was a bit open after and few other bits. So seems ok.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQvj2vGbJ64&feature=related @47 seconds.. cmon, you cant tell me thats realistic damage, the bonnet comes up... also they're constantly scrapeing along walls without the wing mirrors coming off.. frankly i think they've all got you and its goign to be a majour dissapointment.(just like my spelling). Other videos ive seen like the pagani zonda, they all just seem terribly unrealistic.

.. if thats realisitic im buying me a porsche cus they're clearly built like a tank... On a serious note i know the developers stated that there were different settings of hardness, and i can only hope that that clip was set on noob, cus otherwise this will be a huge dissapointment
