Having never worked with breadboards/stripboards this has become quite a task for me :(

I need to make this circuit on a strip board. Would any of you be able to draw up a quick diagram to help me out?

I'm sorry, don't want to be mean, but you mean other than the circuit diagram you have put a picture of - which explains what you need to do? Any other diagram wouldn't make sense!

Just never worked with these stripboards before and not 100% sure where to place then on the board and where to break copper track etc

You could use Verodes, which is a free stripboard layout tool. It allows population of simple components and allows you to see the underside and cut tracks as you need.

The circuit is quite simple.

First thing I'd do is lay out the parts roughly as they are in the diagram. Use a combination of the copper tracks and links on the top side to form your circuit. As a clue though whenever you see a horizontal line use a copper track. When you have a vertical line use a wire or a component to drop down to the required rail. So try and use your buzzer, switched and resistors in the vertical direction. I doubt you need to cut any tracks with this circuit.

Edit: it's an SCR. Never dealt with them before.

The software and methods discussed here should help ... http://www.electro-tech-online.com/...125964-transferring-schematics-veroboard.html

There doesn't appear to be a direct conversion tool but designing the strip board circuit in Eagle will help to ensure it is matching up to the circuit diagram you have. Good luck. I'll be tackling something similar in the coming month and reckon this approach will be the most optimal.

Someone would need the pinout or component ID of that SCR first.

I can simplify that circuit for you though.
Connect 'wire' to 240ac live and 'ring' just a loop of copper. Bin the rest.
:D
