Yeah, look at the totals in CPU-Z and Task Manager.

6144MB installed (for CPU-Z)

6135MB RAM (TM, the other 9MB is unusable)

Can any one tell me (im a ram novice by the way) if my ram is running fast enough as i have just got a stable overclock on my cpu with lowest voltages i could and i now want to sort my ram out and run it near its rated speed of 1600 can any one help out?

Well, you're currently running the RAM at 1450MHz. Not too familiar with Intel X58 systems and their overclocking/RAM tweaking, so that's about as much use as I can be.

The ram is worked out be the ram multiplier X Bus speed. Only way really to get your memory running at default speed is to increase the CPU Bus Speed (BCLK) but this will increase your cpu speed.

Edit:
You can increase the memory multiplier to 9 but this will make your memory run at 1629mhz which should be able to operate.

There are no 1/2 multipliers on Intel X58 boards. In this case, the next RAM multi is 2/10. 181 x 10 would be 1810.
