Need help reading a IMG data file for elevation data

You could always just go from the photos if you can't get the data? A little bit of extra work, but nothing too much.

As an example, I took your image from the other thread as you don't have data for that. I don't want to spend more than 1 minute tuning the greys in GIMP for nice peaks etc so I just turned it white where the track was and used it as a displacement map.

Obviously looks silly in my example and it's just to demonstrate, but if you spend more than one minute on it, you can get the effects you want, the relative heights through the greyscale etc.

I could do but the amount of work that would take is rediculess would take months, Id be better starting from scratch

also mynight, the files I downloaded from the ftp thing are .shp files, any idea on how to extract the stuff I need from them? :p
 
Nah all them files was useless there just like road maps lol. meh

ah well think ill give up on lookin for this data, its just annoying knowing it exists and that I cant find it lol
