Hope someone can help, trying to get thru to ocuk helpline is a nightmare, by the time i get home from work, the lines are closed :(

got the Krypton Intel Core i7 930 2.8ghx @ 4.00ghz o`clocked,
on my new build had a problem with psu, RMA`d it, OC tested it, said it was fine, on its return, i managed to get it started, but on first boot-up i get `overclocking failed` message.

Finally got an email reply today, with the instructions, "In Bios, go tools menu > enter asus OC Profile and load OCUK Profile > press f10 to save and exit",

ok , found the profile, and managed to get a small window up with the profiles 1-8 listed, managed to choose profile1 - which i think is the OCUK one, press enter and notice `restoring profile 1 is ok` press f10 to save and exit, -- i`m assuming i`m doing this right? boot up, system is just the same... listed as 2.80ghz.

can someone walk me thru this please before i mess something up? - beacuse at this point in time, it doesnt seem to be loading the OCUK profile.

any help greatly appreciated.

hi setter, tnx for the reply, d/l prime, don`t know much about it, but i assume i just run it... its open now and there looks like theres a list of 8 `worker` tests, so i assume its stress testing now,
cpu-z is up and running, on the CPU tab, the core speed is around 4000.0 mhz, don`t know what that tells you...

Seems everything is as it should be. Speedstep/c1e are power saving features, they knock the clockspeed down when the system isnt under much stress. Your good to go.:)

thanks for your help, but why is my specs still showing at 2.8ghz in cpu-z and in the Windows 7 system information? in the windows info, it was showing 4ghz last week when i tried a spare PSU, while my 750w corsair was RMA at OC`s. ..... just a bit concerned thats all.

At idle the system is downclocked to stock 2.8ghz, this is due to speedstep being switched on in the bios. I wouldnt pay any attention to the windows system info, mine has been at 4ghz for the best part of a year and a half, yet system info shows it at stock speed.
