Okay guys, So I'm into gaming big time... played competitively on many FPS games but love other types of games such as sports and strategy.

I just want a rough idea how good this rig is (picked the parts off the configuration thingy here on OverClockers).

- BitFenix Spectre PRO 120mm blue LED fan - White

- BitFenix Alchemy Premium Modding LED Strip - Connect Blue 30cm

- XFX Pro 1000W Black Edition '80+ Platinum' Certified Modular Power Supply

- Pioneer BDC-207DBK 8x BluRay ROM / DVDRW SATA-II Optical Drive - Black (OEM)

- Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache WD10EZEX - OEM ** Single Platter ** HDD

- Samsung 250GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD250BW)

- KFA2 Geforce GTX 770 EX OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (77XPH6DV6KXZ) with FREE GPU Keyring

- TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLYD316G2133HC11ADC01)

- Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI EXTREME Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

- Prolimatech Blue Megahalems CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011)

- Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM

- Stage 2 Intel: Overclock of CPU - 4.3GHz Overclock - K Edition Processors Only

- NZXT Phantom 820 Enthusiast Ultra Tower Case - White

I want High Performance from this computer (Like maxed out settings in all games that are coming out this year with fast loading times and what not).

Such titles that I want this year are: Rome 2 Total War, CoD: Ghost, ARMA 3 and many more just there the top 3! :D

So any idea what I should change? My budget for this PC (inc vat would be about 2200? maybe 2300).

Please not I dont want you to change the Case or lights if possible as I like the whole blue/white idea :D

I'm assuming you're getting it built by overclockers?

If so, drop the i7 for an i5, drop down to 8gb ram and get a better GPU

Here is an idea. I've added an OS and left out lighting options for you to play around with

[edit] Missed the RAM..up the RAM to 2400mhz [/edit]

Yes, I'll be using Overclockers, im not smart enough with computers to put together myself unfortunately :(

Was there something wrong with my original build ? (Or where u saving me from spending stupid amounts of money)

Also, why drop the i7 for the i5? Isnt the i7 the latest out ? (sorry not very good with the whole computer thing, just love playing games on it)

The Intel Core i5 is a Quad Core, the Intel Core i7 is the same as the i5 however it has hyper threading. This means that the i5 has 4 physical cores, however the i7 has 4 physical and 4 virtual cores. This means the i7 is better at crunching numbers and encoding, it doesn't however improve gaming performance it's more of a workhorse type of improvement.

I made the mistake of buying an i7 when I built my PC and suffered with having to purchase a cheaper GPU.

With the £78 extra for an i7 you will get maybe 1/2 extra FPS. With the £78 put toward a better GPU, your looking at a much higher gain with barely any loss as the i5 is an extremely capable CPU.

What do you mean by "Crunching numbers and encoding", that like software design and stuff yeah?

also if you look at my edited posted above you'll see a new build where i choose the "Gainward GeForce GTX Titan 6144MB GDDR5". From what I've heard its like the best out there to get, is this true?

Yes, stuff like working with design or some software that supports hyper threading.

The Titan is the best single core GPU out at the moment, however it performs almost identically to the GTX 780 in most benches (if I remember correctly) and is a fair amount more expensive.

From what I have heard, the 690 is better then getting TITAN cards unless you are going for 3/4 TITAN cards because the 690 is around the same price and out performs it a little, but overall I think a 780 is the one to go for
