NEED HELP.

Following this thread and sadly don't have anything much to add yet, but I can't stop myself from pointing out that it is an HDD (hard disk drive) not an HHD. :p

Now trying to boot into safe mode and i get this:

Firstly, can you take a photo of all your BIOS screens as they are right now?

Secondly, it looks like the SSD drive isn't on the port SATA0 on your motherboard. It shouldn't make too much difference, but I like my boot drive to be the plugged into the very first port on the motherboard. Unless you have some cabling reason for not doing this, I would change it.

To format the drives, you can use a Windows installation disc. When you get to the "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen, delete any partitions from drives that don't show as "unallocated space" in the description. If you have two drives (1 HDD and 1 SSD), you'll end up with two listing left in the list - "Drive 0 Unallocated space" and "Drive 1 Unallocated space".

Which motherboard do you have? Also on the 2nd image, what are the last few options?

As I said earlier, you should try and move the SSD to SATA0 on the motherboard, this way it will show under "IDE Channel 0 Master" in your BIOS - the very first device.

Also change the "First Boot Device" to "Hard Disk" and disable the rest - most motherboards have a BIOS which allows you to press a button to choose an alternative boot device such as a CD or USB drive. So don't worry about having to boot from CD or USB drives in the future. On my motherboard I just tap the F8 key for boot options when I turn the PC on - your BIOS may use a different key though.

Also enable "HDD S.M.A.R.T. Capability". I do this for peace of mind more than anything else.

I would, but get your BIOS and hardware setup properly first. It'll make your life easier. That's why I asked for screenshots of all your BIOS screens. Do you have any more I can look at?

when trying to install windows it says "set-up was unable to use the existing partition because the system volume does not contain the required free space"
I have just formatted my SSD and it still wont let me install it

No - if you have everything backed up then delete all the partitions. Click each one, press Delete and confirm for each one until you have two unallocated left.
