Hey guys

So I went to go and try a HHD on my PC just now. I unplugged my current HHD which had all my documents on etc. now when I boot into windows with my SSD and HHD it loads into windows but then the screen starts to flicker. A message came up but I could not catch it.

Need help

So is this a HDD that came of another PC that had windows on it, now its on a new PC with different hardware so its throwing a wobbly.

No. The HHD that came from the other pc just had documents on. It had windows on an SSD. I did not plug mine into any other pc. When I try and load windows up it just comes up with that message in the picture.

In my system I have a SSD and a HHD. SSD for boot and HHD for documents etc. when I plugged then back in I just got my screen flickering and that message coming up

Have checked all cables. Tried different ones etc. all I did was just change the HHD round. Now can't get into bios as my motherboard looks like it does not want to revive a input from USB etc on start up

When windows was installed onto either PC, were the HDD's attached during installation?
I know that windows will use other HDD's during the install process to store a small partition of files.

Possibly the HDD you removed had the DLL it is complaining about?

EDIT: the urlmon.dll seems related to Internet Explorer, try re-installing that.

When i got my PC I used the samsung software to move windows onto the SSD then formatted the HHD as i bought the SSD separately. Cannot reinstall anything as it will not let me do anything almost like it is refreshing to the hoe screen

Is there any way to retrieve the documents. Could I just install windows onto the HHD and take them off that way. Then format both the HHD and the SSD and just start again.

Can you not plug the HDD back into the other computer, upload them and then download them from your computer?

Depending on size of course, or use a USB stick?

Other computer is broken. SSD failed so tried to extract documents off it for someone. Have no other PC in the house. trying to get a vid to show you what the screen is doing.

How long should i leave the cmos battery out for?

5 to ten minutes

I don't see how the hdd can affect anything aslong as its not booting from it,what make/model hdd is it?

you should just be able to hook it up/boot from ssd and drag over what you need from it,enable hotswap for the sata ports in the bios if you have the option aswell

if the hdd has windows install on it try setting sata ports back to ide mode,as ahci might be affecting it idk

try booting in safe mode if you can, then do system restore to few days ago

can also try setting sata ports to ide mode first, see if that cures it
