How about a renault 5?
Definatly did a 420 Touring as theres one up my road, its a NASP not a turbo.wohoo said:Ok im getting myself confused here, did they do a 400 est or a 200 est or did they do both, wheres AGW when you need himi dont think any of them had a turbo as std.
wohoo said:Ideally something oldish, with lots of part availability (cheapish) and engine potential (transplants or whatever), obviously something also which is easy to work on.

Oldish - newest ones are over 10 years old
parts availability - yep, owners clubs, scrappies etc
engine potential - Mi16, Turbo 8v..
easy to work on - well, I can work on them, so it must be easy
Can pick up a project one for a couple of hundred quid, mine was £250.

Common misconception is that the 90 cars are good. They arent. The best Minis are in fact the 60's ones as the metal they used was thicker as it was cheaper.wohoo said:Mini sounds intriguing, but just about every pre 90 model tends to be a real rust bucket, which isnt much of a problem but it leads me to think that it wont be suitable for lots of power without major fettling.
