Virgin Media are poxy so I need a new ISP. I game a lot so low pings are a must. Do a fair bit of downloading so should have good download speeds. If some of you could post some pings to jolt.co.uk, multiplay.co.uk, www.i3d.nl that would be helpful. Thanks.

I am with Enta via Aquiss. I added the BBC to the ping list to show off tbh. :p

There is a 30/300GB cap Peak/offpeak for £25 (can get this for £20 from other resellers such as ADSL24, UKFSN, Vivaciti, Falconnet, Titan-ADSL, etc.) Peak is 8am till 10pm for home and 8am till 8pm for office (has higher upload.) You can see the load on the centrals from here: http://noc.enta.net/?page_id=166

Customer service is great too if you ever need it. :)

i am also with an Enta reseller TitanADSL which are cheaper for 1 or 2 things compared to some of the other Enta resellers. www.titan-adsl.co.uk
also i have found them to be extremely helpful.

ps

Trifid

why dont you move to TitanADSL they are cheaper + your first month they will knock off £5 offer till 15th June according to their site!

another reseller here vote for ADSL24 get them on office package with 786K upload get interleaving turned off (if your line can cope) and i'm getting sub 15 pings consistently :D

Wow trifid those pings look pretty good, as aquiss is a more expensive entanet reseller should I get a cheaper one, or are there more advantages with aquiss?

I don't think Aquiss has anything special worth another £5 a month over the others tbh.
I am migrating to ADSL24 very soon, just got my MAC from BT. I like the fact ADSL24 has a great control panel with loads of details, like usage, line stats, exchange details, etc. and I got a reply to my email within 30 minutes.

When I was looking I knew of 2 resellers of the Enta network, Aquiss and UKFSN. UKFSN's site was very poorly built (aesthetically) and it was just Jason (he's employed a second person now) so was a natural choice (plus support impressed me :o ).

If you don't mind paying the extra then Aquiss are great (the price difference is less on the higher packages) otherwise you will get the same network service with other (non-L2TP) resellers.

Send an email with a series of generic questions to all resellers and see who gives you the best reply if you can't decide.

like i said b4 i am with TitanADSL and their control panel gives you access to usage, billing, web space, email setup and much much more and there support is fantastic! + you get £5 off your first month better than aquiss and adl24 + if you cant get through to titanadsl their e mail systems are also supported by blackberry mobile phone so you can get hold of them pretty much all the time! You would be mad not to join them with £5 off your first month! all emails are answered with 10-15 min topps and they also give you thier mobile phone numbers for out off office support. 07985 231001, 0800 043 1295 give them a call. Also pings dont really count with different resellers as they are all part of Enta!

you will find most good isps that give you upto 8mbs are ok with low pings
but if you go over that you will have a higher ping when gaming

also divaboy i find it hard to beleave any isp with interleaving. will turn
it off for you. they add if for all adsl llu based connections from 16mbs+

titan and adsl24 seem to be abit pricey. but they do look like a good isp
i wouldnt pay that much for an 8mbs connection tho.

if i was looking for a new isp i would probly go for ukonline 8mbs

You wouldn't pay £20 for 8Mbps for 30GB/300GB?

Or are you looking at the true price of an unlimited (contended) service? In which case it is still worth every penny if you need that kind of usage at any time.

Bottom line is if you want a good isp then all enta resellers are going to be great! I would personally stick with the new boy Titan.

Any throttling on enta network would be set by enta, and not the resellers.

Afaik Enta doesn't do any throttling at all, and I certainly never experienced any throttling.

Im with adsl24 and can warmly recommend them.

They run an Anti-loss-tool which you can see working here: http://noc.enta.net/

It is run for all protocols for all users (minus L2TP customers) and only used when the load is too high to stop packet loss happening while keeping great pings.

No. Enta do not sell directly to the public. Only to companies (leased lines etc.) They then sell the bandwidth capacity to resellers who provide the first line of support.

Enta will take charge if a partner goes bust/quits issuing MAC codes and internet until you move to another reseller or completely different ISP.

Tbh they are all very similar thats why I say to send a generic email and see who gives the best/fastest answer.
