Need some advice on buying a BMW 97 540i

Torch has no power as in its dead, or, it's not receiving any charge?

Try a different Torch.
 
Howdy,

Well I have now been driving this thing for a week with a big smile on my face!

Today she got new shoes - M5 Shadow chrome (pics to come), and M5 boot spoiler.

Now she sits lower than normal 5's on 18's..... I popped to the local BMW dealer and got the spec sheet for the car and found this...

M-Sport Suspension!

Woohoo!

Whoever 1st ordered this car had some taste, amongst other stuff there is Shadow Line, Sports seats, BMW HiFi, Auto Dimming mirrors etc...

:-)

Edit: I also took it to my local BMW specialist - who gave it the thumbs up!

M-Sport suspension, Sports seats and High Gloss Shadow Line are standard on 98 8 Cylinder 5 Series.

Ahh, ok - It said on the vehicle options sheet, that they were "ordered options".

Heres one for you. Can anyone decypher this description.

Pics will be tomorrow I guess, it is going in for a valet clean in the morning (I have done the best I can with the garage vac) I may even get the outside detailed too :-)
 
Very jealous of this, i'd absolutely love a 40i.

Insurance is cheap but my company wont pay for the fuel so its a bit of a no go :(

Yup fully comp is about £440 with no excess, and I am 31 with 5yrs NCB - no points.

As for fuel consuption, you are aware that everytime you accellerate it costs money. I have put in £50 and I have had it a week - only got about £12's worth left!
 
I can imagine mate, all my cars have been drinkers thus far. Sadly i am now in the position where it makes no sense as my company will buy diesel, but not petrol :'( Thus i cannot have a decent and yet cheap car.

Limousine I would guess.. means the same as 'Saloon' in our language IIRC. :)
