Need some advice please

Joystick? Why not a gamepad? There are a large variety available to suit smaller hands and, unlike a joystick, don't require a solid base to put it on.

She already has an XBOX controller but as she has some fine motor skill issues a joystick would sometimes be easier for her to use

shes 11 , but has the intellect of someone much older...she has some fine motor skill issues due to mild cerebral palsy , she also has Apergers Syndrome ie very high functioning autism ..so giving her no more than two options ie XBOX Controller and a Joystick is better for her

Hmm, so something quite robust for smaller hands would be best. Unlikely to need all the hat switches or throttles of a flight stick.

There are a few out there that would be suitable..try searching google for 'Lujex Classic USB Arcade Game Shock Joystick Controller'

Seems to fit the bill..big, sturdy and ideal for smaller hands
