Need some Help Quick

Well I just built my first ever rig, extremely happy!

I used my old HDD and installed Win 7 64 bit on it, and the interent is downloading files at 2-3KB/sec which is killing me!

I checked my drivers and found out that: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller is anciently out of date, I dont know if it has anything to do with the internet or not?

Any advice on why it could be going so slow.

Well done on your first! Have you tried restarting your router? Yeah the driver might make a difference. It's worth a try!

Oh GD is not the beat place to post this. Try general hardware up the top?! You'll get really answer rather than people taking the ****.

But even my browser is slow.
Also im downloading a Wow Patch and I cant Right click > Download all?
The Wow patch is saying its at 2-4KB/sec
Also Adobe Flash Player is the same

are you sure there is nothing wrong with your connection? try restarting the router, sometimes that does work wonders.

Just restrarted it then, didnt do nothing, now my download are not even downloading no more....
I posted in the other forum but no one has commented!

Turn your rig off and on again and update that driver, I think that'll do it!

I'll actually give you some serious advice unlike these jokers. It could be that you haven't actually installed the internet properly on your new build and it's just downloading on a 3G connection right now.

I did the student discount upgrade offer from Windows 7.
Bought the disc in the offer as well.
Just turned my Router off and on, and my rig off and on.
Still no change in speeds :\

Just did the speed test:
Download is 4.88Mb/s
Upload is 0.31Mb/s
Ping is 45ms

Any help?

Right it is as I intimated earlier on. It appears you are definitely downloading on 3G and it's likely the student upgrade didn't come with the appropriate Internet installer. Just go here and it will download for you, it might take a while though.

Its sorted out now, I think I just had to install something when I restarted the computer.

Downloading is still not as fast as the old computer, got the WOW Patch to about, 40KB/sec - 300KB/sec.

Keeps fluctuating like mad, youtube is playing now tho.
