Soooo... this is what i have
CPU: Atlhon x2 5200+ (@3.1 Ghz)
GPU: XFX HD5770 (930/1400)
RAM: 4gb DDR2
OS: Windows 7 pro 64 bits
Monitor: Samsung 740nw (1280x720)
Ok, so im about to upgrade my pc... but i dont know if i should go for:
A) keep the 5770, and go for the i5 2500k + Gygabyte P67-D3-B3 + 4-8GB RAM
B) Change the GPU (maybe a 6870 or so), and the CPU for a Phenom II x4 955 + MoBo + 4GB RAM
if you ask me, since im going to keep my monitor for quite some time now (maybe 2 years...) im leaning towards the option A), since going for a phenom (while may allow me to get a better card) seems like a dead-end, with just a year or so of "gaming", and with that resolution (1280x720) i dont see how much i would benefit from a 6870 to sacrifice going for the i5 2500k.
i rather have a "top notch" CPU now... but i dont know, how do guys think my 5770 would handle BF3/Skyrim (and soon to come games) in 1280x720 ?
