OK - so Ididn't partiton before loading Vista 64 and now can't make C: as small as I want to.

As I've only loaded Vista and drivers so far, I think it might just be easier to start again...

So...

What's the best way to reformat the drive?

How / when can I partition it - I didn't seem to get an option when installing 1st time round - unless I missed it.

Thanks

The Part Vista ask for you to configure disks.

You do no n Vista you ca change the size of a disk now in disk management??

Yep, but it's not letting me make C: any smaller than 300 GB - even after multiple defrag and reboots...

I don't recall it giving me a configure option - but maybe I just clicked through it...

What's the best way to reformat?

EDIT> Presume it's boot from Vista disk, then reformat from there...

Setup does ask which partition to install on. I usually delete all partions (or at least the one windows was on before), then set a new one, but when it asks what size to make it, don't select maximum possible. Work out how big you want it (divide the number shown by how many partitions would give you the size you want), then enter that number for the size.

I normally do this by running fdisk before starting the install.
