so a week ago, my mums partner who lives with her wanted to buy a new pc for my brother - kid is 6 and only plays games, youtube, and flash games.

really nothing else mum/him only watch youtube/stream online too!

now i went on and said give me 400 quid and ill build a custom pc for games/etc.

basically he refused and went on to purplestore and bought an advent all in one pc.

this;

Code:
ADVENT DA2207 23.6” All-in-One PC
Intel® Core™ i3-2120
8 GB ddr3
2 TB hdd
1080p monitor
integrated gpu

for 600! :) now ofc i went on and said that this will not play the games he wants, he sees my other brother playing dirt 3/showdown/flatout 2 UC etc

and he wants those games

i have explained him that that computer does not have a dedicated gfx card to run those games properly

yet he insists and i really mean he gets crazy mad about it that this is the best computer he could get and that everyone buys at purplestore because they sell the best computers

and that it will run THOUSANDS(his words) of games because it has 2 TB(exactly what he said)

now i wont argue the pc is good for work, but not for 600 quid :) and i could have built a better pc.

he still thinks im taking the pee by not installing the games and paying for them because i am stupid and i think the pc is bad, i have build 5 custom pcs for my friends and i have upgraded a lot too so i know what is what, even tho he thinks im stupid(he said it again) and i know nothing at all.

now the question is, how do i prove to this human being that he is wrong? he really is getting crazy over it and aggressive too.

i honestly don't care, its his money and i haven't said a thing about it bar the first things i've said about it when he got it

and he calls me super lazy for not installing games, and he actually spoke to some dumb people who agreed that it will run everything and that im lazy :|

agg.. help me out? i was thinking of getting crysis demo and just showing him how well it runs a game released years ago :)

but im 99% sure he will only call me stupid and say i've done it on purpose to break it!

ignoring doesn't help he starts talking about it and calling me stupid again for no reason.

If he isn't going to listen either ignore him or just smile and nod to everything he says. Some people don't want to learn. You'll be proved right over time.

So just keep ignoring it. He's looking for a rise, and you aren't going to prove him wrong because in his own head, he's right. Not worth the hassle at all, let stupid people be stupid people on their own. :)

Don't waste any more time trying to convince him, let him waste his money and eventually he'll realise how stupid he was and that he should have listened to you at the beginning.

Besides, he's being sensitive and agressive because he knows, deep inside, just how stupid he is. Just let him keep digging that hole for himself :)

I would get him to read this thread just to prove the point.

Firstly, going to the purple store was the worst idea ever, he should have listened to you and you build him a far better rig.

Secondly, good luck to him playing the games you mentioned - or most games for that matter - with that spec! An i3 and an integrated gfx card, should be good for something like Doom 2 maybe, that came out in 1994! Well, I will rephrase...the games will run with that spec BUT all the settings will have to be turned down/adjusted and expect the framerate to be dire. So imagine graphics from the original playstation on your shiny new PC! A shiny new PC that could have played games in all their glory.

The only - and I mean only - possibility you may have is to convince him to buy a dedicated gfx card for the pc, however this all depends on the motherboard spec and if it can do that.

ignoring is exactly what im trying to do!

but my little brother keeps asking for games, obviously he wants them on his new computer :| and the guy just keeps going how lazy i am and that i should never ask for anything from him ever again, and that he will actually PAY people to come over our house, install the games and then i can see how wrong i am.

so how am i meant to ignore it, i guess nodding and agreeing to everything he says is the best idea, and installing some demos would do the job, he wont know the difference between full game and demo.

you know, i would put my spare 8800gt or 3850 in that pc.. but being an "all in one" i can't fit anything in there

He should have at the very least let you spec up a basket so he had some names and figures to haggle for. Even if he was determined to go to plebworld like a pleb.

PSU will be none standard fittings. so chances are no upgrades except RAM possible.

Just install a few games. (get him to pay for em!) and let him see.

At the end of the day, your little bro is 6. His demand will be low and he will love having his own PC even if its not quite as good as your other brothers. show him runescape or something. Though... intergrated graphics... might not even run that very well.

Build I put together in 5 minutes. Nice little ITX build with a decent CPU and what is a monster of a GPU for the same price as the PC he bought. Is it perfect? No, but it's 1000x better than what he bought.

Show him benchmarks of the 7950 compared to the integrated graphics which should paint a pretty clear picture in his mind. Also, see if the PC can be returned if he finally sees the error of his ways and build him something similar to that.

Granted this doesn't include the monitor but if it has to fall within the 600 pound mark you could drop the 7950 for a 7850 which should leave you enough room for a monitor and still be a beast of a gaming rig.
