need to prove something.

is your first language English?

Nope, 3rd actually :-) why did you ask?

if you dont care like you say,

then leave it, relax and wait till he comes running. if not then who cares

if you said that to him though, its a bit douchey, and isnt surprising it annoyed him. it would annoy me thats for sure.

It is, but he wasnt nice with me either when i explained that it is not suitable for games he wants to play on it.

Haha, i really dont care its just that he is getting on my nerves a bit with the games... i dont mind installing them but i know its a waste of time. That is the only thing that bothers me.

Got this cooked up, just in case.

To be honest, distance yourself as much as you can and observe the fall out. You don't want to be the one servicing his crap computer. He is an idiot, so he'll probably get the Purple Brigade full service offer and their special anti-virus deals, which will end up costing him well over his original budget.

While studying at uni I worked part time in the Purple Store, and can confirm that the machines they sell are horrendous.

Unfortunately this chap suffers from "I know best syndrome" and he has just flushed 600 quid down the toilet. More fool him for his stupidity.

Download any modernish game with inbuilt Benchmark.

Run said benchmark.

Watch as PC grinds to a near halt and struggles to plonk out anything worthwhile.

Show what a £600 self build could do.

Let's be honest, a 6 year old is never going to use 2TB of storage. You'd have gotten away with a 256GB SSD (one of the "slower" £100~ ish that do up to 300mb/s). Still blistering quick. Plus with the self-build you could simply add in a 500GB or 1TB internal drive with zero fuss.

Bonus idea : Let the kid play on your self-built computer (ok it's apples and oranges a bit unless your self build is £600~ of hardware). Maybe it'd take him telling the Purple shirt buyer how bad it really is. (Potential to backfire with this though, cue buyer calling him ungrateful etc)

Looking at the "reevoo" reviews it seems to get good reviews, then again the people "reviewing" it will probably have no idea what they're on about past the fancy gimmicks.

I'll stop waffling now, lest this become a giant wall of text no-one reads :p

He sounds like a douchebag tbh. Some people only learn from their own mistakes (some don't even learn then), so just leave him to it then observe as said PC doesn't run jack :D

Id give up on the matter tbh, you know what you're capable of doing and knowledge of how to make a decent bit of kit for a great price.

Why do you care so much? he obviously doesn't want your help, it's not your money or anything, I'd leave it alone.

i dont care i have left it alone, but i live in the same house and he bothers me non STOP with the games, i have left it alone after the first day :) but he can't do it for some reason and he keeps coming up with it! :o

i have decided to just install some demos and leave it, he won't know the difference and if they don't run ill explain him that and he can stuff him self if he doesn't like it.

Charge him £10 for every game he shows you.

Or install Steam > Demos section
