Needing some Macbook advise please

the base spec macbook only comes with a combo drive, dvd and cdrw. you can get the superdrives and install it yourself, but that upgrade would invalidate the warranty. upgrading the hd and ram is fine under the apple warranty :)

They're Apple OEM as they're slot loading and fit inside the casing.

Can somebody confirm that the HDs are SATA please? I doubted myself.

Yes, they're 2.5" SATAs .

Basically Stickroad, you go to the link I posted.. then when you've chosen the Mac you will get redirected to a page to choose an iPod you'd like.

From here, just pick the one you want (£89 off other models if you don't want the Nano), and you're done. Pay for it ALL first, then Apple send you a rebate cheque (for the total monies spent on the iPod, minus the £89).

A bit of a pain, but if you can afford it (and you fancy a new iPod) I'd say it's worth the hassle :)

Do they really take 6-8 weeks? I've had the e-mail confirmation saying they've accepted my rebate request, what's the delay now? :p

I dunno, they seem to take a good month or so to actually send the money.

Must either be swamped with rebates, or they've got Steve doing it personally ;)

Right thanks for all of the advice everyone. :)

I have decided i will be going for the 13-inch: White 2.16GHz for £779.03. Just have to sell my current system now.

THEN the Macbook will be mine all mine. :D:D:D

Thanks again everyone.

Good choice, I will guarantee you will fall in love with it :)

Thought i'd just say that i've also just ordered mine :D Base model Macbook but with 120gb hard drive and with a *free* iPod nano. Can't wait.. pity it's gonna take 2 weeks =|

If it's any difference, get the hard drive from OcUK; save yourself money and it might help reduce the shipping time :)

No, it doesn't.

Not entirely sure about the MacBook Pro, but on the MacBook it's classed as a User Upgradeable part :)

OOOOooo nice to hear!

If I get the money for this MBP through this week then I'll be applying for 2 free nanos just to sell them on :D
