So i've recently moved into a new flat and had virgin installed. Now the woman downstairs is too tight to get her own internet installed, so she's been leeching off the nearby pub wireless network. However they've started changing password regularly so i think they've cottoned onto it.

She's now asked my mrs if we have the internet in our place yet, and that if she can have the password to the wifi.

So good people of OCUK forums, would you share it with her or not and why?

EDIT: I've already made a guest network on the superhub so was planning on giving her that SSID and password to keep her away from my passwordless NAS files.

Hah! No.

I wouldn't want some woman downstairs potentially slowing the connection down and causing security issues. Also, you don't know what she browses.

Can you set up multiple networks with rules on your router? Make her a network with the speed of a 56k modem.

Tell her sorry that due to the nature of your secret government work, your network needs to remain totally secure from outsiders for the sake of national security.

So you don't know this person but you know she is too tight to pay a meagre 20 quid a month (rough estimate) and yet you trust her to go and do whatever online that you will be held accountable for? Really?

No I would not! No Reason really, she should get her own. Otherwise ask her for the keys to her flat so you can throw parties in her place...then invite all of us/post on Facebook lol.

My neighbour asked this a while ago and I said no. I have a secure connection setup to work via vpn and if I let them on and the connection/security were compromised I could be sacked.

People that ask this should always be told to do one unless its a good friend of yours. After all YOU are responsible for that connection and if they were surfing kiddy porn, doing dodgy stuff such as scams etc the blame would fall on you.
