neighbours alarm going off all night, what to do?

Shaank, do you live on caledonian place? If so I have the same issue possibly the same fire alarm, i live in the appartment below and im about to go freeking insane!!!

are you sure they are out and are not lying stone cold dead of monoxide poisoning? must be a reason why its going off all day?

Hmm juding by the post time it seems it was not the same appartment. Though its creepy as iv had the exact same problem. Flat above mine fire alarm going for 36 hours (they just got back from wherever the heck and turned it off) who ever thought mains fire alarms were a good idea -.-? at least it didnt sync to a building wide alarm system...

Even though its off, i still keep thinking i can hear it. Well there you have it, im a mentalist now!!

Kick their door down and turn it off, then when they return tell them what a nuisance it was and that as compensation you should be allowed one go at smashing pasty!

I would phone the police, there should be a non-emergency number available somewhere online to get in touch with your local station

That is something you should never do.

No matter what time of the day it is, if a alarm had been going off for a specific period of time it's classed as a noise nuisance no matter what time it is.

Give your councils noise team a call as they'd have more powers then the police would in certain circumstances and they can call someone out to shut off the external alarm box (it's amazing how much you can learn from certain programs the BBC broadcasts during the day).

Councils actually have a "noise team" is that not a massive waste of money? don't they just send out those noise order forms telling people tell keep it down a bit?

I would have thought the police would have been the first point of call regardless of the time of day, isn't it the police's job to "keep the peace"?

It was an internal fire alarm in both our cases, requiring access from inside to shut it off. They did finally come back after 36-37 hours and turn it off. it went off again today for 10 minutes... must be cooking meth up there.
