We've had horrible next door but one neighbours for the last 14 years and they have fell out with everybody except me (I'm just too easy going).
Three neighbours have even had fisty cuff fights with the bloke and at least 4 neighbours have moved out in that time.
The house next door to them has had a for sale sign up for a long time but they had no chance of selling and they will probably pull it down now they've gone.
The neighbours have been waiting for this day for years and I had a running text commentary from 2pm because my daughters were watching front and back from the upstairs window.
They were even Facebook'ing somebody who lived opposite the house for a better commentary.
The bailiffs entered around 2pm and she was taken straight to court while they took the dog away, changed the locks and switched off the water.
She came back an hour later screaming to the whole street that she had got to find £10,000 and would somebody help her.
The sadness of it only became apparent when her 3 kids arrived at around 6pm crying their eyes out (ages 12, 11 & 9) but they were allowed in to collect stuff.
I had posted pictures of their back garden when I called the RSPCA because they had left their dog for 5 days - http://www.disturbinthepeace.co.uk/neighbour.htm so I think from that you can get an idea what they are like and what the immediate neighbours have put up with.
Ironically the kids are very clever (top of their respective classes) and very polite but have to put up with ****** & blinding every night and watching their mother and father being drugged up.

So what are the laws concerning eviction -

1) Can Bailiffs just enter without giving any warning?
2) If she found £10,000 next week could they let them back?
3) Having 3 young kids are the authorities bound to place them in a council house or similar?

Poor little pup. I'd have taken the dog and, assuming it wasn't chipped (unlikely given if they are happy to leave it for 5 days they don't care about it), taken it to someone who would look after it. Or an animal shelter.

Well, I'd like to think I would, anyway.

If she has been evict for rent arrears she would have been contacted plenty of times regarding resolving the arrears, with options of making an agreement to clear the arrears, even if this was only £5 a week (on top of normal rent), as long as she was keeping it they can't get rid of her.

She would have received a Notice of Seeking Possession (NOSP) at least 4 weeks ago (likely to be longer).

Courts are very reluctant to evict people, especially when children are involved, so the chances are she has gone to court plenty of times before, with false promises regarding making an agreement to clear the arrears, so this time she probably thought it would be much of the same so was very surprised that she evicted.

Congratulations! We recently saw the eviction of the scummers a few doors down who made everybody else's life hell! It's a shame someone else has to put up with them, but looking at it selfishly, at least it isn't us!

Blimey what are you going to do now that there will be no one to complain about?

What are the neighbours going to do - they have never given us any jip.
In fact I was around there 2 weeks ago fixing their PC (AGAIN).
Remember Life Of Grime and Mr Trebus? - that's what it's nearly like in there.
The day 'we' called the RSPCA was for the concern of the dog.

Just realised that I only answered a few questions

1) Can Bailiffs just enter without giving any warning?
Nope, they would have been informed formally in writing
2) If she found £10,000 next week could they let them back?
Depends, entirely down to discretion, but they could refuse to let them back in because they have not proved themselves to be good tenants. Local Authorities and Housing Associations are inspected on their arrears figures. They would not want to be letting these people stay
3) Having 3 young kids are the authorities bound to place them in a council house or similar?
Any way who has been evicted, the LA has a duty of care as they are technically homeless, although depending on circumstances this could be a bed in a night shelter, a B & B or a run down property on a temp let until they can find suitable accommodation

Like I said, they have never done me any harm but the old woman between us has had to put up with a lot and it has definitely shortened her life and made her ill.
Every now and then the old woman would ask them to tone it down and you would hear a torrent of abuse coming her way.
It was very hard to stay out of it.

Not rent, it's their own house but they obviously haven't been paying the mortgage (or anything).
I've never seen a tax disk on any of their cars so you can bet there's no MOT or insurance.

Ahhhhhh they still would have had gone to court to be evicted and been informed in writing every month, but not too sure of legal timeframes

we had a family move in next but one a few months ago and they are a nightmare hopefully they are going soon as there contract is up and they have been told to go.
