Good to see you back Neil.

I know what your'e going through with the blood thinners. I am on them for life as well due to congenital heart disease. I assume you are on heparin injections to your stomach followed by warfarin therapy.

Don't worry about warfarin. It's really not a big deal. You just have to go for regular blood tests and watch what you eat and drink (alcohol)? If you have some spare cash, you can also buy your own INR meter called a coag-u-chek, so youcan test your blood yourself and avoid regular clinic trips. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Thanks guys

Yes rob that's it, the doctors were great and some of the hospital staff but some needed new jobs lol

Glad you're getting treated and doing "ok" Neil. And although it's not easy living with this kind of thing hanging over you, it's certainly better to know about it and be prepared for future complications.

This should serve as a valuable lesson to everyone... there are some symptoms we have to take seriously. Persistent chest pain's certainly one of them! :-)

Good luck.

When I was playing certain games such as BF3 I was getting huge rushes and couldn't calm down

I know how you feel, gets me angry like that too ;)

But jesus christ! I'm surprised they didn't pick up on this at a sooner date! Sounds pretty bad :(

Hope you get week soon dude!

Maybe it was BF3 that caused the clot ( sues Dice/EA )

But seriously ;), If it wasn't for the swelling of the right arm and purple colour i'd never had known about the chest clot, let alone the arm one!

I'm putting my money on BF. Excess stress!

Pretty scary though looking back on it. But at least you know something can be done and you will better for it! Best of luck!

Best of luck Neil, hope you get better soon.... Its ok to check out the fit nurses..!! makes up for the horrid food you get in hospital..

You'll be back on BF3 in no time... : - )

Jesus that sounds scary! But its good you now know what and why. Hopefully this will make things a bit easier now. :)

All the best mate.

Well at least you've got a reason to explain nerd-raging that the rest of us don't have!

But injections in the stomach? I'd probably pass out before the needle pierced my skin :/
