It's going to be an announcement as they said they will say when it is being released at least 24 hours before. So no need to worry, I imagine they will release at a reasonable hour probably out of work hours.
Remember they have another domain that it will be sold, the raspberry pi website will probably crash on launch but the shop won't.
 

Would love one to learn about programming and to have a portable media center.
The fact that it can run games like quake 3 is mind blowing.
 
I've never understood the rush to get it first?

We've waited this long, a few days extra or whatever it takes won't harm anyone.
 
The first 10K units will likely disappear in a matter of minutes. Given that it's unlikely most people will get one, it's probably easier to wait for the next (larger) batch, which will hopefully come with some snazzy cases etc.
 
I am thinking of getting one to play with, cant beat the price for what may be quite a useful/interesting project.

Wonder if I could use it to DL torrents whilst at work? Dont like leaving my PC on all day!
 
The cases are for the education models, sold into schools aren't that? The whole appeal for me is the exposed GPIO pins, not fussed about casing
 
I'm getting one for messing about with. I was recently looking for a cheap laptop/netbook for the same purposes, however this is a much better idea.
 
Deffo gonna get one.

When Bigtrak XTR is released I want to have a section on the website dedicated to hacking it. Having it do stuff with the Pi is interesting :-)
