Netflix Sci-Fi Anthology - Love, Death & Robots

Binged this over the weekend and felt it was deserving of its own thread.

An anothology of animated (and 1 live action) shorts covering various sci-fi concepts and tropes.

Even the worst ones (of which there are only a few) are ok, and the good ones are really good!

Plenty of swearing, violence, and often even nudity, so not for the kids.

My personal favourites were Three Robots, Suits, Good Hunting, Shape-Shifters, Lucky 13, Blindspot, Alternate Histories and Secret War.

I can't wait for us to be able to play games at the level of some of these graphics.

5 out of 18 had nudity/sex that I remember, and one of those was jokey cartoon Hitler.

Also, 'necessary' is the choice of the storyteller/director.

Really enjoyed this overall, just binged the lot. The only one I didn't like was "Ice Age" with the little civilization in the freezer, otherwise I really enjoyed most of it. Some of the CGI was utterly jaw dropping, like on Episode 7.

I did feel that idea was covered in a Simpson Tree House Of Horror episode.

Ever seen The Seven Deadly sins. If not, their main mode of transportation is an enormous green pig wearing a "hat" which doubles as their living quarters/pub/business. Cool beans! - no explanation given or needed.

That reminds me, I need to start on Season 2 of that!

Less than half the episodes of season 1? FAIL!

Only really liked Snow In The Desert and Life Hutch (the latter having amazing graphics).

Oh, and All Through The House was actually really cool for a short.

I enjoyed all of that, apart from Jibaro, but can still appreciate the artistic attempt.

Animation was superb, and that was Joe Manginello (sp) modelled in the cthulhu one in sure.

Jibaro had me hooked from the start with the medieval setting, but with asian characters. Then when her shrieking started and they all did that bass heavy death dance into the water it felt like I was watching something really special. And there was a good short story in there, yet not a single word uttered. Amazing.

More likely that they were conquistadors, putting it after the medieval period.
