Network Switch Speed drops after time

Hi,

Tried two different switches, issue is on powering up switch I'm getting in the region of 400-600 mps. If I try it the next day I'm getting 10-20 mps, reboot it and its back to 400-600 mps. Using a virgin media router with cat 6 cable. Anyone know what the issue is??

You been in to the router to see what connection speed it is reporting to the pc, you can check the other end on the pc. you using a network switch or a old repurposed router?

Make sure there's only one cable between each switch and router.

IE, don't connect multiple ports between the devices. This will create a network storm.

Also, try replacing network cables. Could be a damaged one.
