Never Mind The Buzzcocks

If I'd have been Preston I would have knocked Amstel's teeth out on camera.

You don't go insulting a man's wife if you don't fancy some earhole powder in return. :(

I was prepared to make a similar comment until I watched the show last night. Unless a lot of previous stuff was edited out the only comments about Chantelle were a few excerpts he read from her book. If her books rubbish that's hardly Amstel's fault.

Most 'guests' cop far worse. Remember the Darius episode where everyone laid into him for 29minutes and he still made the best joke of the show at the end.

I thought last nights show was poor compared to the previous two. That maybe because I was expecting more from Preston's massively over hyped storming off. Still entertaining, mind.

I liked how they all started taking the **** out of him and pretended to storm off :D

He lasted longer than I thought!... :D

Bit of an over-reaction... all Amstel did was read, even though part of it was the end of the book!!, Preston probly got peeved as it spoiled the ending so people don't need to buy it now!.. :D

Shame he didn't saty for the line-up... with the 'Paris Hilton' lookielikee.. There were probly loads of gags lined up for that!!... :D

Yeah he went early didn't he? I was expecting it to take longer.

I think the host commented on his band at the very start which he didnt take very well, then he read him parts of his wifes book and that seemed to be all that he could take.
Didnt take long at all before he was gone.

Preston (no real idea who he actually is) had a face like a smacked backside from the start of the show. Though admittedly Amstell was on to him from the outset with this...

"Preston appeared on celebrity Big Brother, and married the winner Chantelle. Preston was worried it might alienate hardcore Ordinary Boy fans... Luckily neither of them were in the country. (pause) Or existed." :D

That sour faced pillock deserved everything he got in my opinion, (and compared to some guests he was hardly touched) and if Simon meant to take a pot shot at his wife. Good. The world's full of pointless Z listers who need culling.

And no one, especially Bill or Jupitus seemed sorry to see the plonker storm off.

You've been edited enough times now to know they're swearing

I don't usually swear on here but I've seen that word go unedited on here several times lately so I thought it had been un-taboo-ed.

Take that back. :(

Nope. I found him patronising and while a good comedian, nothing close to exceptional.

You, and that programme, represent what is wrong with British culture today.

You think that humour exists only to mercilessly take the **** in a malicious, facetious way..

Massively uncalled for there. You assume that because taking the mick out of deserved victims IS funny, that that is ALL that is funny.

I think your generalised reaction there says more about what you negatively represent about "British culture today".

I thought it was a funny episode. Dunno if it was how it was edited but it took VERY little to wind him. I think he should have watched some previous shows, and seen others get layed into. then he may have handled it better.

It would have took a lot more than that to get me to the stage where i would stomp off set. I think he must be pretty insecure about things himself.

It was emerged after recording that Preston and Chantelle are going through a rough patch.. Simon probably just hit a sore nerve.

I've just watched that clip and it is pretty mild stuff which sends Preston running, but I've been in a similar situation and I can tell by Preston's body language that he is thinking, "Why is he saying those things?"

The passages he read out of Chantel's book were quite sweet. To some rich-born stage-school faggot like Amstel, those things were ****take-worthy.

When Amstel asked the audience what the problem was, I would have shouted something out for sure if I'd been in that audience, and it would probably have begun with P and ended with K.

Possibly the dumbest thing I’ve read on a forum in a long time. The guy should have known what he was getting involved with when he went on the show, if he didn’t tough.

I love the fact you complain about Amstel’s humour offending him with what is in your own words “pretty mild stuff”, and proclaim this is what’s wrong with British culture. Then proceed to call Amstel a “faggot” in your post, and admit that if you were in the audience you’d have shouted out what we can only presume would be abuse at the presenter.

Dry your eyes.
