New £20 Note

LOL, who the hell cares whose picture is on the damn money? The Queens head is on every coin in the country. Got xenophobia?
Agreed! I want MORE Scots on money :D

On another note, thats one seriously ugly note.

How is it xenophobic? It is bizarre to have a foreign national on a banknote. I bet no other country does it.

Canadian bank notes and coins still have the Queen on them:(, which imho i dont agree with...seems like we got our independance from you lot but left the Queen as head of state as a constitutional monarchy:(.

I love the Vietnamese notes :) Still got a few 50,000s around somewhere, though never had a 500k, looks pretty.

Ahh the times spent staring at a light through the little plastic windowy bit to see the glowing V and N...All good notes should have little tricks like that.

Re the new 20 pound one...Really not fussed :p I move between Scotland and Austria and tend to skip out England in the middle, not a massive fan of the design though. Do wish the Scots would standardise some of their notes, I swear cashpoints still give me randomly coloured 20s to confuse me..

Is that thing real? Looks like monopoly money only worse. Pathetic. A Scotsman on a English bank note is just wrong too! Idiots!

The irony is that most English people argue that Scots perpetuate racism by refusing to support England in sporting events and then object to a Scot on their banknotes!

"I support two teams, Scotland and whoever is playing England" How many times have you heard that? It isn't the support of your own team or even the lack of support of England it is more the support of England's opposition that gets people's goat.

The rise in anti-scottish feeling could also be in reaction to Scots Nationalism. Especially with the current ludicrous situation where Scottish MPs are able to vote on matters that solely impact England but England has no say in matters that impact Scotland.

the fact that he was one of the most influential economists in the world doesn't seem to come into it.

He does actually make a good person to go on any banknote regardless of nationality.

Gordon Brown is a Scot, does that make him unfit to be Prime Minister?

Putting aside the fact that as an MP he cannot fully represent his constituency as a lot of aspects of Scottish life are now controlled by the Scottish Parliament? Well the fact that he is a Scot doesn't make him unfit to be PM but quite a few would say he isn't fit to be PM!

Don't mind a Scot being on the note and don't mind the note it's self. Although I really do think this is a step to making it look more like the Euro, which is a concern. I thoight that about the £2 coin as well.

It's not just that, it's the little things that annoy the Scottish, such as the BBC. When was the last thing that covered anything Scottish bar 'Coast'?

It was only a few weeks ago a BBC Weatherman commented on all the weather in England, then said it would be raining and snowing "Up there in Nowheresville".

Thats just out of order and unacceptable, Scotland isn't a town or city nor should it be insulted by one idiot trying to be funny... It's an entire country, why should places like London, Nottingham, Manchester etc.. get more weather coverage than Scotland?

Because at the end of the day more people live in England. Detailing the weather of places like John O'groats just to please 25 inbred Mackays isnt exactly appropriate and/or efficient usage of BBC air time.

Well I'd disagree with you there.

We, in Northern Ireland already have use of lots of different notes, if it says 20 on it, its a £20 one, who cares whats on it.
I like NI notes. Doesn't matter if you leave them in your pockets when you wash your trousers.
