New "30gb" memory stick?!

Not to go off topic but didn't you post the exact same thing sometime ago?

And for some reason, I remember seeing the exact same responses here.

I only recieved the usb stick through the post, today :(

As for filling it, I'm a light user... I have, one 120gb SSD, that's it :) I'm struggling to fill it !

[UPDATE] Strange... Running that H2testw...

Speeds started at 2mb/s for the first gb, and speeds are cosntantly increasing, now running at 8mb/s ? This stick has a mind of its own ;O any explanation for this?

[edit] 20minutes in, it's running at 12mb/s and still slowly increasing... Hmm...

Apologies, I edited the initial post.

The tests came back - FAIL :(

I'm really not sure what the crack is with the stick... It happily "holds" 30gb, and formats to 32gb yet files past the 2gb mark are corrupt - I'm thinking... it's a 32gb stick with a "toned down" bios only allowing the use of 2gb?

Refer to pics in first post :)

sounds to me like a 2gb stick which has a modified header to make windows think it is a 32gb drive

i thought the program was meant to report what the true capacity of the drive was?

Hmm... Possibly !

Though, it allows me to add 30gb worth of files?
I.E. I filled it with 20gb of music, all files were present with thumbnails etc, just un-playable.

I really don't know much about these... Just confused the **** outta me seeing " 200mb/30gb " :p

Hmm, "1.9gb OK" "28.1gb data lost"

No wonder it was cheap,I've seen fakes of large capacity Usb sticks but only being a couple of gb but never the other way around

So it's a fake 32GB stick sold at its true capacity of 2GB.

All well and good but you could end up thinking you're putting files on it and you aren't.

A "proper" 2GB stick would be better.

sounds to me like youve got a modified drive

the way they set it up is that it overwrites the 2gb again and again, windows thinks that its copying all that stuff over - but really only the last 2gb of files copied is present

i had the same thing with a fake sandisk memory stick i bought from an auction site - ill only buy stuff like that from ocuk now

This is why I don't buy anything data related on ebay, you can 'hack' the size of a memory stick/card

Many people used to sell 512mb Sony memory sticks as 2gb sticks using the same method. They would sort of work, but ultimately, they were junk.

Either send it back or bin it. It would be annoying to use.

Get this, far sexier :D
