According to Parry the idea is for the plans for the expansion will hopefully be in place for us to go straight to 78,000 without any delay but worst case they still have a 60,000 there if the plans aren't ready or approved in time.weringo said:Well that sounds OK, do you know how long it will take to the new stadium to be built (inc the extra 20,000) assuming the plans are accepted within a few weeks/months.
The current Kop is 13,000(ish) and thats the biggest single tier stand in the world and the new one will be 18,000
I guess they will know what the demand is going to be like. We sell out 45k now and have a season ticket waiting list of around 55-60k (though the number who will take up the option is proberly around half that).DanH84 said:might be worth seeing is you consistently sell out the 60k first.
Advertising boards by the looks of it.markf said:Yeah, what is that all about? Very tacky.
Don't know, Rick Parry has said the aim is to get the plans for the expansion in place so that they can go straight to 78k for the opening in 2010.DanH84 said:i'm sure they do, i would be surprised though to see any expansion work begin before 2012 though, so 3 seasons at 60k and then up to 75-78k for 2013.

Yea thats what i meantdaz.wallace said:He said in the interview (video at the bottom) that they hope to have a higher capacity when the stadium opens.
They will be putting in the expanded plans shortly after building work starts, hoping that they get the permission to go to 78,000 before the building work is finished and then be able to increase the capacity by the time of the opening.andy@moFo said:why carnt anfield been modified? old trafford had another couple of thousand stacked on in the corner i believe, surly major re-development of the stands could work in everyones favour.. keep the history.. keep the stadium, but increase the attendances..?
