They can request and suggest you do but from alegal point of view they must be prepared to handle it for you as far as i know.

I'm afraid Asus's UK RMA support has indeed evaporated, there RMA process is pretty atrocious these days, hence our "friend" AsusRep is no where to be seen. so be warned, some folk have been known to wait in excess of a month for there mobo RMA's to be dealt with. :(
The Asus Rep moved to AMD as far as I am aware. I noticed on the place where Asus was doing UK RMA replacement/repairs it now says this:

Hi there, what happend with your RMA? Where did you have to send the motherboard too? how long did it take? :)

Glad to hear asus getting its act together .

Had a P5E-VM which died after 18 months.Took around 3 months for
me to get a part refund because asus could not find a
replacement.

2 months just to find out they never had any
in this day and age this info should have been a click away.

That is just it! they are getting worse it seems, Asus lost their UK Rep and also removed the Scotland RMA centre.

Well I was just about to order an Asus Z68 motherboard. Have to rethink after reading this thread, maybe go Msi instead tho they are a bit pricey on here.:(

Their is no way I would buy another Asus Motherboard OR Graphics Card, when Asus's RMA process is totally sketchy and unreliable.

I'm wanting the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4, still not in stock at OcUK yet others have it in stock as of Friday. At least Gigabyte have a UK RMA centre with quick turnaround.

From what I have read the XP version does not have any problems with boot loops etc, it's either that or the Asrock Z68, their RMA centre is Netherlands, same as MSI.

Wish their was more choice, over the last 10 years we have lost Soyo, Soltek, DFI, Abit, Epox it sucks. :(
