New Battlefield 2142 media

These new missions in Quakewars sound a lot like the conquest maps of the original UT.

What i want from the next gen of shooters is really distructable scenery. Artillary taking the tops off buildings, tanks blowing holes in the walls, craters littering the place, sandbags and other defences being worn down. The map should reflect the battle. One team defending a massive fort for example, while the other team batter down the ramparts! :D

I dont really care when or where it is set, i just want an exciting dynamic battlefield to fight in. Guns are guns at the end of the day.
 
The problem with that being that you either have to segment the fort up a hell of a lot, into relatively large slices and have preset destruction code, which isnt all that good, or you can wait for the pysx cards to start some fun but that will take years to get some decent games like that and they probably will be shoved into GPU's anyway.

I think they are right looks more like a mod than a game. With UT2k4 Onslaught mode.
 
I hate to be harsh, but I never saw how BF2 or BFV were any better than 1942 except with pretty graphics and helicopters and dodgy commander system...

I like BF2 over 1942 and BFV because I am totally SICK of WW1/WW2 games. (oh and BFV just plain sucked).
 
I only played BF 1942 & the 1st expansion to it.
For some reason never go into BF Veitnam or Modern Combat?

But with this coming i will be getting it. Looks very good & i like the fact it has Mecha.
