new bed ( memory foam question)

and no storage lol

I bought myself a new orthopedic double bed last week for £300 with free delivery.

Comes with 4 pull out drawers. Mattress is big a chunky, I struggle to even put a dent in it lol.

The bedshed have a double bed going for £199 you know :)

Oh and I replaced my duck down pillows with some cheap bounce back ones from Next. 10x better :)

My ol' dear called up some company that were advertising beds on the telly with memory foam mattresses but the beds were remote controlled so that you could adjust the height and angle of the thing:D I think they quoted her something close to 3 grand for it and when she said "Thanks but no thanks" they bombarded her with phone calls with 'Managers Special Deals' and stuff like that.

They told her that she could have one installed to try it out and I said she should but tell them that she had an 'accident' on it to see if they would give her it for half price :D

Best sort of bed really. I have an orthopaedic mattress myself and haven't looked back

MAN WHEN THE HEATING FAILED in my house back in december for a week it was BIG HOUSE 4 bedroomd place i was renting.

IT WAS BLIMMIN COLD felt like i was outside most the time.

Electric blanket was FLIPPING AMAZING in the night.

Took a week for all the work to be done in the house but god damn those things are great when you need them

its good to have about.

I couldn't agree more buddy.:D I was a residential student for the last nine months and the college heating system consisted of a match and a single firelighter going by the 'heat' that used to come from their radiators. I got myself down to Argos and bought myself an electric over and under blanket. They were about £70 each but they could heat up in ten minutes and jeezoh ...what a heat:D I used to wake up sweating with my window wide open in the winter ... they were that good:cool:

It was like jumping into a George Forman grill some nights :D;)

I dunno why, but i always feel like im sleeping in a wet bed when im using memory foam matresses etc, the way you sink into them and they mould around you is strange, ans the pillows are horrible, if you go to roll over the foam takes a while to reset itself so you end up uncomfortable for a while.

There must be different memory foam mattresses.
Both ours and one of my daughters are like lying on the floor.
The foam doesn't move and most certainly doesn't mold to you.
I hate it and I'm having some terrible nights on it.

I love my memory foam mattress. It's helped with my back problem a hell of a lot. My gf on the other hand, hates it. It's also good for when sexy time strikes... no more squeaking beds ;).

Am I the only one that doesn't like being hot in bed?

My gf has a memory foam mattress and even in winter it just heats up too much. Just seems weird as the window can be open wide so were cool but my back will be superhot where it touches the mattress.

There is different types and you can get different thickness.

I ended up going for the bed in my original post but from a local retailer for £37 cheaper and free delivery.
the memory foam topper is 3rd generation memory foam and has an imbuilt cool tech in it.
the weather has been hot here and the bed is no hotter than my old none memory bed.
also i went for the silentnight miracoil 7.

PS- No im not 80 i just like a hot bed in winter ! :D

I have a memory foam bed and I absolutely love it.

I have back problems though mind, so any sprung beds or anything that isn't memory foam really is horrid to sleep on.

Wouldn't swap mine for anything!

This. Though it took me a fair while to get used to it though. Good thing about it is if you have to get up to the loo in the night (Like me) the bed is still warm when you climb back in.

Personally I'd say it makes far more sense to actually go to some bed stores and try out some mattresses to see what you actually like.

I was after a new double last year and visited a number of shops.
I was interested in getting a memory foam one, but the first thing I noticed is that there is a real difference in the quality and size of them. There are a lot of rolled up ones being sold which are not at all very thick or comfortable. You need to spend a good chunk of money to get a proper thick one.

When I actually tried some decent ones out, I found that overall they weren't as comfortable as some of the decent normal mattresses. In the end I went for a Sealy one which apparently is also Orthopedic and good for your back, its very comfortable.

You are going to spend a lot of time on it, so it makes sense to try some out.
