New birthday PC... not working!

tried with onboard graphics? and tried clearing the cmos (leave motherboard battery out a good 10 minutes then put back in and try)

EDIT: makesure its tight enough the cooler and put some paste on it

Are you getting a "no display signal" message on your monitor. Usually get this if the monitor is not detecting the signal being sent from the PC. You could also try using a different cable, as they can sometimes become defective.
How old is your monitor?

Really odd... I mean, I've built plenty of PCs before.

CPU has NO thermal grease on it from the H60?! Plus, it's STONE cold although it's been switched on for 5 minutes.

Really confused now?!?

You did remove the plastic protective film from the cooler?:D

24pin and 4pin ATX plugged it fully?

H60 pump/fan rpm sensor plugged into the boards cpu fan header?

Hmm is the BIOS latest one? Make note that 9 series boards are ready to use with Haswell Refresh, and 8 series needs BIOS update in order to use them..

Never mind.. I am blind :d

Might be bent pins.
Did you try clearing CMOS?
Resit RAM, check for bent pins on the socket.
