New birthday PC... not working!

New board?! It's really easy to fix bent pins. I fixed a board that had about 10-15 bent pins in about 20 minutes.

Yes, as ASUS wont want to know and if you look at post#34 you will see I linked him to a video showing how to bend pins back.

I would think Asus wanting to know is irrelevant if you fix the pins yourself. I was surprised that a new board was your first suggestion, especially with such a minor bend too.

@Spoffle - I was ready to chuck it away, I certainly didn't have the confidence to fix 15 bent pins in 20 minutes :) I agree in hindsight it wasn't too hard, but I shall trying my damnest not to find myself in this position again!

You were lucky, they were only minor bends! The board I bought had quite severely bent pins. :p

Because not everyone is confident bending back such things.

And when I say "wont want to know" that is meaning "wont want to RMA".

So why should I not say "new board time".

Bent the pins on my MSI Z97 board, MSI have repaired it for me free of charge.. anyway well done for sorting your board

Glad you sorted it, I've had similar looking bent pins in the past too and managed to fix them with some tweezers every time :)
