New bits for my mowta!

Don't EVER talk to me again :(

Erm

They are just too big. The wheel design itself is nice, but they are too big for the 200, a 16" or maybe a 17" would be spot on. And preferably tyres where you can actually tell they have a sidewall.

Bingo.

The 200 is going to tramline like the Manchester Metrolink with those on it. Plus they look daft.
i just put 17's on my 306 cab and it now tramlines like a pig, im ntoa big fan of big wheels but i needed them to get over my new brakes which i have yet to put on (4 pot brembos with 305mm discs)

Yep, i'd love to go smaller than what I have now (don't like the aquaplaning in the wet mostly), but I have almost zero clearance between brembo caliper and wheel as it is on my 18"s

Why fit such big brakes on a 306 cab?

Read his sig ;) mmmm turbo.

Was OK on them wheels had a lot of grip too, certainly noticed improvement in acceleration and response when going to superleggeras though.

Are you sure the FWD Cabrio chassis will handle 300bhp without it just being a damn nuisance?
no imnot sure at all if it is a big deal ill bosh the engine and management into a 205 or if i can find one a miami blue 3 dr 309 :) then just put a gti6 into the cab and sell it
but in all honesty the 306 cab chassis is actually very rigid for a rag top, yes it gets a bit of scuttle but all cabs do
also he new megasquirt code will soon allow me to limit boost dependant on speed aswell as rpm and load, so that will definatly be usefull

Thanks Lan :) (I'm guessing you are talking about my car and not the blue one I posted above, heh)

Also, it's always 3 > 5 doors ;)

Unless you count my roof folding down as a door..............

Yes, yes I do. Especially if you want to be a real ponce and do a running jump into the drivers seat :D

With the exterior on hold for the time being, I thought I'd put the red spray paint I've had sat in my wardrobe for a year (bought it to spray the spoiler for the 214) to some use.

After a bit of prep work, few coats of primer and then a few coats of spray paint followed by two coats of laquer, here are the results...

(The red isn't quite this garish in real life... it matches the colour of the dash strip)

Looks a damn sight better IMO... well at least it would if it wasn't for this...

I bought a DIN triple gauge holder from eBay, and while it was quite a good fit, it did look stuck in. Once the filler is sanded down and the gauge holder looks factory, I'm going to get the centre console retrimmed in black leather and replace the gearstick gaiter with a red leather jobbie. Should look pretty smart when it's all finished.

And don't worry, I'm not about to start colour coding various other parts of the interior. It's going to stay nice and subtle.

How will you get the filler off the plastic trim and sand it down etc without ruining the texture of the dash?

edit - nm, you're retrimming.
