New bits for my mowta!

i really want to get mine braced, by all accounts it helps the car handle (rear more so than the front)

was it a pain drilling the struts? thats whats really putting me off

The holes were already drilled in the brace :)

Only thing you might have to do (like I did) was to make the holes marginally bigger to suit the tracking of the car. No big deal really, a few minutes with a power drill and I was sorted :D

I'm about to get two new tyres, only had them since April :(

Some people don't drive their cars hard enough tbh :p

Some people are just smoother drivers (12k on my Front F1s and they've still got a good few thousand left on them :p )

Looking good Andy, I do like those seats.

Have you done much to the bodywork Andy? Is the wing still hanging off :p

I do like those seats, the seats in my Mk3 200 were very hugging but on long journeys were not very comfortable. The Mondeo seats are really soft and comfy but if I get some roundabout tyre squeel in the estate I usually end up in the passenger footwell. It must be quite funny to see an estate sliding round a roundabout though!

ROFL Tesla! Get your Mondy lowered and braced up... then fit a 'charger! :D

And with regards to the front wing :p I recently picked up new wings for both sides. Mint condition and they'd recently had a respray (along with the bumper).

So, it's looking better in that respect.. but still has nasty patches of filler/primer all down the rear 3/4 of the car. Going to follow Clarkey's advice and spray over it temporarily.

Cheers John :) Hopefully one day it'll be me keeping up with you around the MM roads, and not El :D

Looks very very nice!

I really like that - I'd also keep the strut braces as they are

The MG ZR seats are very good aren't they - that's the first thing I noticed when I got into mine for the first time! Having occasionally used my mother's Mk 4 1.4 Astra (just like my old one) I really miss the lack of support!

I get this clunking noise when I move from left to right on the steering wheel, full lock to full lock basically.

It clunks also when i'm reversing and the cars rolling back and then I put it in 1st and pull forward whilst it's still rolling, clunk.

Sometimes I can pull on the drive and it'll clunk lol.

Whats all thats about =D

At a guess i would say CV joints. It happent to mums car

Or the ARB droplinks... the Saxo's are known for eating them as much as 214's eat headgaskets :p

aj, yeah the ZR seats are absolutely fantastic. As Simon said in his post, the guy sold the seats due to them being too high and his helmet hitting the roof when out on the track.

I can see where he was coming from... I wound the seat up to its highest point on the way to work and my head was only an inch or so from the roof. It was good being tall for once :D

can you get a rear sway bar? apparently these do wonders for stability etc at the rear end. im not sure if yours has independant rear suspension, but if not id look into!

yar, but an uprated bar is the way forward. the GT has Rear ARB as std, but the uprated Progress sway bars add a lot to the handling, so think it might help with the rover too! check it out and see if u can see any uprated ones.

does it have independant rear suspension or beam?

Independent rears :)

It's actually the same rear setup as the DC2 (AFAIK) Teg Type-R's... so maybe you could get uprated Teg suspension parts and bolt them in place.

Hmmmm.

Really like those seats, vast improvement :D

With the strut braces, I wouldn't worry about the colour, its not as though you can see them too easily unless somebody looks in your boot.

I'm not sure about the bumper myself either though...

Your inspiring me to actually get some motivation and sort mine out properly! :p

Bored today so i went about taking the mud flaps off all round, the brackets were broken on the back and the paint on them was all cracked so figured they looked a bit naff, didnt really do much and you can see my attractive tyre tread better without them ;) Was an easy enough job, the washers they mount on were all rusted, so the couple that wouldnt unscrew easily, just give it a tug and they fell off anyway :D

Glad i did now, on the backs of them the amount of cack that had built up was suprising, also behind the plastic arch mouldings at the bottom of the sills there was half a field worth of mud and some leaves. This is where the water that lands on the windscreen drains down so it was all damp as well, cant imagine that sitting there will do it much good, but couldnt find any rusting fortunatly, cleaned it all out now, so will just have to check it every now and again for build ups :)

Garage is sorting my ARB on friday, going to ask them to do my sump gasket and new plugs i think (any recommendations?).
