New BT Youview Service launching this Friday

This deal looks great to me for my own circumstances.

I'm with sky and have just come to the end of my contract today and I pay £87.99 a month - going up to £92.99 next month thanks to inflation-related price increases!

I currently get:
  • Sky Q 1TB box (no multiroom)
  • Sky entertainment, box sets, kids, HD
  • Sky Fibre Max
I then pay for Now TV movies separately as it's cheaper than buying sky cinema.

To get essentially the same on BT would cost me £56.98 a month.

Am I missing something here? Because to me this seems like a great deal even on a 2 year contract.

I'm paying £35 a month just to add BT sport to my sky package. Then the £60 a month for the sky package so £95 a month for everything.

BT seems cheap.

Is now TV only 720P or is it 1080P now?

I'd move to their Big sport for £40 a month means I'm saving £55 a month but lose 4K. I can't believe they are charging £20 a month for 4K. that is a 50% increase in price. doesn't seem worth it.

NowTV is 1080p 5.1 but you have to pay £3 for it! Although it is included in the VIP package.

I can't believe they are charging £20 a month for 4K. that is a 50% increase in price. doesn't seem worth it.

its not £20 for 4k its £5 to give you HD and 4k (basically BT Sports Ultimate is only 4k and thats it).
Big Sport @ £40 just gives you BT Sport and Sky Sports so you can't work it out that way. Basically the VIP "full package" is £60 which gives you everything.

Also dont forget an extra HD box is only £5 (as in "multiroom")

So I went Sport £15, HD&4k £5, Extra Box £5 = £25 a month.

Already got Entertainment on NowTV for 6 months and Sky Sports for £20 a month on my own account. Plus I have a Sky Cinema 3 Month pass still not used too I got for free which was a NowTV Xmas gift.

The £60 is without the broadband though right? So about £100 for the full monty once you've got the 72meg and line rental.

Yup. Its a bit crap as just before the new packages they were doing the broadband plus TV for £60 for new users and I nearly rang them up to see if they would price match for existing users but then I found out the new packages were due Friday so I waited.

My broadband is up Sept/Oct time so I will review it then but I am on a legacy BT broadband package so at the moment I pay £6 less for upto 80meg (they called it then) than the current bottom package !

Yes, I'm getting 72meg, TV with sport for £49 a month. That's with a discount they gave me for not leaving after my contract was up. I've got Amazon, Netflix and Nowtv seperately, paid in advance for the sky sports 10 month package they were doing at the start of the football season. Be nice to get it all in one place, my contracts up in June though.

Can't help thinking on the face of it it's expensive. We pay sky £51.50 a month for all sky channels, catch up, netflix, cinema, sports, multiroom, 4k

I guess the £40 package is good, but an extra £20 for 4k! lol

Just keep in mind that Now TV quality is absolutely awful!
