New build advice please

Ooops... I have caused confusion again !
No I meant you feel it isn't worth buying a 1080 0ver a 1070 for HD triple monitors ?
Personally, if it was me, I think I would find the extra performance worth the outlay, but it's not my money so he has that decision, I just have to build it :)

Well 3 x 1080 monitors isn't as demanding as a single 4K monitor.

1440p = 3,686,400 pixels

1080p surround = 6,220,800 pixels

4K = 8,294,400 pixels

So 3 x 1080 monitors is slightly more than halfway between 1440p resolution and 4k resolution. So look at frame rates for 1440p and 4K and then find a middle ground. It will give you a rough idea.

We have decided that as my mate normally has me build, then does nothing to it for several years, the 1080 is worth the extra ;)

We are looking at:
Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (although wondering if its worth it over the Gaming 5).
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
Seagate 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB WINDFORCE OC 8G Video Card
EK-Supremacy EVO - Acetal+Nickel (O/C don't mention 1151, but EK webby lists it for the gaming 7 board).
XSPC Ion Reservoir (to replace the current pita bay res).

Any known incompatabilities/issues with those components, or reasons to change any items, feel free to point them out :)
