Its funny how a platinum expensive psu causes issues.
I have same issue in another thread posted with a HX1000 bought from elsewhere and started the RMA process with them, although I started to think I should have gone straight to Corsair instead. Doing a few more tests tonight and I will pack it to be sent sigh.
28 days they said argh! Also they said that coil whine is not considered a fault and might just come back without any change.. Said also high powered psu's are prone to whine because they get more power in. Makes sense in my head but not sure if this guy was trying to just put me off from sending the psu back.
My bronze enermax 625w psu doesn't have any whine but the brandspanking new Corsair is high pitched annoying in gaming. Funnily enough when crossfire kicks in and the nuclear reactor is turned on (2x vega 56) there is no coil whine, I think the whine is there when the fan is off on the psu. Mind you I didn't even dare to try and run crossfire with the 2 vegas on the old psu.
Good luck OP
