The fan direction arrows aren't obvious (sometimes hidden) and without either checking them or knowing the orientation then it could happen.

If the PCs were put through a testing process then I guess it should have been spotted, however it depends on what they check etc.

Least it's fixed now!

Yes it's sorted.

I remember from installing my H80i one of the fans didn't have any arrows on.

Actually, it might have been one of the Corsair Air 240 case fans which didn't have arrows....but it was a corsair fan

I build systems on a daily basis and its not difficult to tell the direction the fan blows even without the arrows. Its not only the person that has built it that has fitted the fans incorrectly its the QA person AS WELL that has not spotted it which would leave me concerned.

As a VEEEEEEERY general rule with fans, the side with the label on is where the fan is pointing.

Looking at the label? Expect air in your face.
Looking at the other side? Expect no/much less air in your face.

I'm sure there are exceptions but I'm picking up fractal, noctua, delta, panaflow, corsair, adda and other random fans in my bits box and they all blow towards the label.
