New build, help please...

You mean the H50? I doubt it would cover the system. And it's most likely not going to happen during the warranty period, since that's generally how far they trust the product. It's about equal to the Prolimatech Meghalahems anyway.

Sorry my bad, yes the H50.

Would the large air coolers fit into the case easily, or would it be a tight fit?

My current rig has a Zalman CNPS9500A which is quite big, how do the new ones compare?

So I am pretty safe if I change the H50 before the warranty expires? I am prepared to do that for cooler temps and more room in the case.

Getting onto Soundcards....

Whats the sound like from a 5870? I need a gfx card anyway, so could I kill 2 birds with 1 stone that way? What connections does it have to connect to my Logitech Z5500?

Using it for both gfx and sound, would that have any reduction in performance?

I wouldn't use the 5870 for sound since it wouldn't have such a good sound as a sound card.
If you want a sound card you have to tell us what things you use with your speakers.

Remember to edit your posts instead of doing a triple post please.

Ok, sorry my bad.

Hardware so far:-

i7 920
Gigabyte UD5
6gb 1600mhz ram
SSD
Samsung F3 HDD sata2
Tagan 900w PSU
Gfx card - undecided yet
Soundcard - undecided yet
TV Card - undecided yet
Windows 7 (eventually)
Monitor - NEC Multisync 24WMGX3
Logitech Z5500 Speakers 5.1

Trying to decide on a soundcard atm, I require a decent one and understand that an analogue connection would be best for me? Which soundcard would be best given the above hardware?

The speakers are mainly used for music, and occasional gaming.

Many thanks

Looks like I cant get the Patriot ram seperately now, so changed to this bundle.....is the ram as good?

All I need now is a decent TV card. Which one should I look at, and where will it fit on this mobo? (what connection?)

Also, will that soundcard fit into the system ok with that setup?

Thanks

I hear this is very good. I'm away to buy some after my Patriot decided not to run at rated speeds.

The UD5 is a lovely board. Overclocks very well. I asked about the Xtreme when I was building my system, and it's effectively the UD5. Just with some extra stuff you don't really need that much. Especially with good case cooling. I'm actually using the on board sound on it currently, as my soundcard is a bit dead. It sounds very good also.

I think the thinking behind 1600MHz over 2000MHz is that you won't notice a huge difference between the 1600MHz and 2000MHz unless you are benchmarking constantly. It's pretty much the sweet spot between price, and performance. 2000MHz rated RAM is pretty damn expensive.

Do I need to order extra fans for the case (or do they all come with it?), is a cooling fan for the ram advisable or is it ok without?

"5/5 its a brilliant case, lots of room, lots of cooling, the cable managment is brilliant. With all 6 included fans running at full setting, the case is 19 degrees calcius, with an ambient temperature of 25-30+. Cpu cooling on stock fan benifits too, At full load the cpu is 10 degrees cooler than my old p180 case. I'd reccomend this to anyone wanting a new case."

Looks like it comes with 6 as standard. I wouldn't bother with cooling fan for the ram. They will be fine. Most have their own heatspreaders and with the airflow through that case it will be more than sufficient.
