Cheap disks?
There well known as being good, must be an old DVD burner you have or something, do the disks skip in other drives?
I think you pay a £20 premium to have the bluray writing as well as dvd writing. The cheaper drives only read bluray but read & write dvds.
I use verbatim dual layer (8.5GB) dvds myself. Works out just under £1 per disk, to do a 1:1 backup of a movie dvd you need DL not the single layer (4.7GB) dvds.
Your new favourite software can rip your bluray movies to say 8GB which would fit on the DL disks nicely to back them up if you wished......nothing wrong with you getting a bluray writer but the media is going to cost more.
Just pointing out the cheaper alternative, so how happy are you with the new rig?![]()
Try Quick Sync and I assure you that you won't be lolling any more...
Currently you're
With Quick Sync you'll be![]()
Quicksync isnt a program by itself as such, its to do with the HD3000 core built-in to your CPU.
Install the Lucid and Intel graphics driver, when a program can make use of it, it will switch to the built-in core and start using it.
The official list of supported programs is here - http://www.intel.com/content/www/us...ick-sync-video/quick-sync-video-consumer.html
Lucid is a little program that switches between the GFX card and the HD3000 GFX built-in to the CPU as needed.
Don't be too hard on yourself fella, there is quite a lot to take in. If you installed the drivers from the supplied CD they will be out of date. It's best to goto your mobos webpage and download the latest drivers there (dont worry about the BIOS and BIOS update software).
Stulids link explains what quicksync is and shows a few programs that use it (that's not all of them). Roxio could well be worth a look, i used to use it back in the day.....i prefered it over the Nero suite.
Like i said before there maybe a program you prefer to use for converting a video file to DVD format but if you intend to rip/copy from a DVD/Bluray i think you'll find dvdfab is superior.
