New build, thinking of changing GPU now, thoughts please?

Echo @pastymuncher's (or Mr Brown as he's now known :D) friendly heads up re link - but price is very competitive - now delete it before your whipped with an HDMI cable.

EDIT: Don't worry @pastymuncher - i will not be using that name in the future :)

@Daniel Brown (strange coincidence as thats my son's name) You should remove the link before a mod see's it and gives you a "holiday". Links to competitors are not allowed on here. This forum is paid for and maintained by Overclockers UK so quite rightly links to competitors are not allowed.

Thanks for the heads up mate, I’m pretty sure my dads not called pastymuncher so we are all good!

Is that worth grabbing just now for the price and specs?

If you can't take advantage of it, don't bother. But if you play older games you might find it worth it. Your proposed rig will play Doom at 4K at more than 60 Hz once you get a decent GPU. That said, I've just popped over to the river place and the XV273K they have on special offer is refurbished, so beware. The non-refurbished listing is at standard price.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,093.62 (includes shipping: £11.70)

like @tamzzy but just available on here . OCUK has increased its pricing of the Gaming OC- only card to have a 3 yr warranty- rest have 2 which is shocking for something costing over £200 and asus costs are very high. Recommened retail of it though is £420 . Seems non XT version is £375 RRP also with 3 yr warranty. Cheapest AIB 5700 at OCUK is MSI MECH at £370 with 2 yr warranty

PSU bit overkill but most 650w are all sold out!!!!

@Plec @tamzzy i now await ban hammer for mentioning RRP/SRP

Nah, that's pointing out a fact. Every other post, in the 'happy-clappy' Zen-2 thread mentions this all the time - the thread would be full of tumbleweed if members were 'hammered' for this.

You're starting to get the hang of walking the line - but it's a given that you'll occasionally pee all over it, you're our Orbi :D (@tamzzy has ultimate responsibility - i invoke verbal contract law!!!)

*And you have to behave as we need your project thread undated - get that dremel out!!!

@Plec this lunch time! head home, snack, hoover ( im domestically trained/whipped ) and then will go for it... and watch my budget dremel knock off break!

why walk a line when you can walk it via handstand :D

Now I’m thinking about just phoning up and asking them to put a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming OC in it instead as it’s an extra £300 just now and not 500 down the line, what you guys think?

Gigabyte 2060 super / RX 5700 XT or 2070 super is worth it over the 1660 for sure . Just depends on your costing. 5700 XT Gaming OC is better then 2060 Super in terms of performance but OCUK have increased the cost then most

Phoned them this morning, 2070 super gaming I changed the 1660 from. Out of stock at the moment so need to wait a little longer but it will be worth it.
