New Car Ideas?

We've got upto £18-20k for a New/Used Car

Hopefully for a family too, needs to have some power atleast..

We have a Lexus IS200 02 Reg atm..

We've thought about the Dodge Callibre, any other ideas?

We've been thinking along the lines of a BMW

Not sure which yet, or a Merc..or even another Lexus

We want over what we have atm, a measly 154bhp or so.. We want some grunt

Not so impressed with the mercs tbh, went to look at a new SLK on sat and the heater controls and general finish of the trim was bad, stick with the bmw.

Personally, I would recommend a 5 Series over a 3 Series. A 530i would be perfect, a fully loaded SE automatic would be an excellent car.

HOWEVER...

You may find it very hard to get a nice E60 5 Series for £20k, and I really think £20k is too much to be spending on an E39. So, if you like the 5 Series idea, and they are exceptional cars, then consider spending £15-17k on a nice 2002-3 530i SE Auto with Comms Pack and Leather.

If you're spending that much, better off going for a 530i Sport, should get a very nice albeit used example for that much with not too many miles on the clock

Ah i forgot to add, we dont want to go bigger in size, than a IS200..if possible, after owning a GS300 =)

It's the same size as a 330i.
