New Car!

I quite like it. Diesels r0x0r ;)

Enjoy it while you can!
Not all Diesles do.

Only modern ones really, Mk1 and Mk2 Mondeo diesels certainly don't rock. As do most other older diesels.

The styling of the Punto is great, pat on the back to the designers.

Looks good to me!

Not something I would necessarily pick myself, but I do like the look of the new Punto. Hope it doesn't let you down.

Awesome!

Looks really good and one of the best colours for this one.

Do you have Blue&Me?

It does have Blue&Me and i love it. Got my ipod plugged into the USB port in the glovebox and can control it from the steering wheel controls which is excellent! Also love the voice activated dialing and totoally handsfree, which is really handy for me not needing to mess about with a bluetooth headset no more. Really makes my 45 minute commute enjoyable.

Nice car, best colour IMO.
Nice spec too, leather is nice, climate is rare.

All it needed was Skydome to be perfect!

The 130 Sporting is pretty quick, does it have Blue & Me or the previous Bluetooth kit?

Edit : Just noticed it's Benfields Ex Demonstrator yeah>?
I got really lucky with the spec, have you drove my car  . It was from Benfield in Newcastle as their ex-demo. Picked it up on the 91'st day that they had it, which is the first day that they could sell it.
It has the full Blue&Me not the chopped down version, i asked that before i bought just to be sure.

Very nice car.

Considered the Grande Punto a few weeks ago when we were hunting for a new motor, but wifey wanted a bigger 4 door hatch.

Cracking motor though mate, looks fab.

How does it feel to drive?.
It is absolutly fantastic, well i would say that considering what i came from its a big big difference. Its allowed me to have more confidence in driving, i was never a nervous driver but allowed me to make progress better. It feels very glued to the road, handles great and pulls even when in 6th. I've found myself getting to high speeds without even noticing as it is so quiet at speed not going by the whine of my old engine for a guide, i'll quote one of my friends "So is it a petrol then?" with a confused expression on his face. Deffinatly tell its a diesel at idle but at speed its hard to tell. Its got great visability as well, feel like i can see better around me and don't have as many restrictions as it has a huge windscreen for the car of its size light floods in making it seem larger than it is also.
It does have its downsides, i've found the turning circle is quite large, the rear view can sometimes be hindered and i can't guesstimate where the end of the bonnet is as it slopes down, but i can live with that. Bear in mind these are mostly comparitive to my old car.

Brilliant choice of car, exactly what i'm getting (as soon as i pass ) Same model as well (1.9 sporting)
Fantastic cars, lets see some more pix then

Andy
Will get some more pics soon, have some but they're a bit overexposed it was too sunny and i cant use the new camera my dads just bought.

I remember you posting a while ago on fiatforums about getting one, how longs your wait? You won't be disapointed!
I think you may find it a bit tough if you have no driving experience as it is quite powerful. I was doing emergency stops all saturday as the breaks are awesome, and flooring it everywhere as that used to be what i had to do to get anywhere. Got the hang of it now though...ish!

Sorry but you post your car, you get opinions, hopefully you are pleased enough with it that peoples thoughts dont matter.

Now aside from the idea of spending so much money on a little towncar, may I take this opportunity to say...

WOW. That is one SERIOUSLY good looking supermini. It's fab! No, that isnt sarcasm. It looks like a little Maserati!

I only put that as i was a bit apprehensive of what peoples view's may be, i'm shocked as i usually see threads where people are ripped to shreads.

Thanks everyone for all your comments made me deffenatly know i picked the right car!

As you were saying Fox i wouldn't have really minded what people said as i love it sooooo much, i look forward to going to work in the morning so that i can drive it. Bet its the same with your BMW, congrats btw.

that is a very nice lookin punto, realy hated the last one but thats stunning, might try persuade my gran to get rid of her old stlye and get one of those. :)

The words "Fiat Punto" don't really inspire you, but seeing the car is a totally different ballgame. Think it looks really good, and seems to have a lot of toys. My dad will be looking for a smallish car in the future so will definitely be getting him to check these out.

How heavy are these things? I guess they're pretty lardy given that they can only manage 9.5 secs to 60 with 130bhp.

Still, nice upgrade from you 1.0 saxo, hope you enjoy it :)

I sell them for a living, so I drive plenty of them on a regular basis.

Our GP Sporting demonstrators shift pretty quick too, we've never had one this specced up though.

Do you know if they're going to release a quicker, more sporty one at all? Like a 180-200bhp one with some cool trimmings??

On the fiat website it quotes it at 1205kg but i have a feeling its a tad heavier than that becuase of the leather seats and all the options. Not sure if thats heavy  or lardy (like your expression better)

Got a couple of pics on request, taken on my phone becuase i still can't work the camera, will have another bash at it the weekend.

Excuse it being a bit dirty 40 mile of A and B roads a day do nothing for keeping it clean!

Really like the seats, wouldn't have even considered them if i was spec'ing the car new, kind of like an added bonus. Love the arm rest and extra comfort and style.

Not read all the thread so don't know if anyone has mentioned, but Fiat are recalling these due to some safety device that should be fitted to all cars, but has been left out of UK models. Prevents severe knee injury in a head on collision.
