Just do the ***** option like I did.

Go down to Halfords, grab a few radio keys and ask if you can take them out to your car to find out which ones are suitable for your radio. It's quite easy to open the box without damaging anything so it's not like they're not resellable afterwards.

Remove the radio then go back in and tell them that none of them fitted.

Turns out the problem with the stereo was a fuse! Only found it by looking at a technical wiki on the net. Oddly replacing this fuse sorted the cruise control out too. Just the dash lights to sort now.
