New car!

Holy cow. 320bhp in a car that wieghs a lot less than modern cars presumably? That will be epic. Absoloutely not to my taste but I can understand the attraction of these if it is your sort of thing. Presumably there is a chance it will appreciate if you hold on to it a while what with scene tax and good examples becoming less and less available?

Is it FWD? If so is all that power through the front wheels a problem or does the LSD do a good job of keeping everything in check? And out of interest how long does one expect an engine with this much boost to last between rebuilds or the turbo blowing up? I always wondered this with modified cars. If I'm right in assuming it is the same lump that normally puts out 225bhp in top spec for the VW group then a 40% increase in power I would have thought has a detrimental effect.

Mate you're a legend. This is better than a LCR all day long. Very very nice and a superb colour to boot. Did you have something similar before?

yeah its just fwd, the diff is pretty good at keeping the power down, the 1.8t engines can pretty much run upto 350hp before you need to uprate all the internals etc. in allhonesty there isnt much point switching to the 320hp map on normal roads, it has 250 - 280 available under that which are crazy anyway. hopefully i can make some track days etc before the summer is out.

Salami - I have had a few G60's before and loved them to pieces, i was going to get another till i saw this for sale. Im glad i didnt buy one as this car is in a different league all together.

Have you got any kind of performance figures to put to the car? A close friend of mine is building an Ibiza cupra track car at the moment and is shooting for 290bhp. I'm quite looking forward to seeing it go :D

Not a fan of Golf's, I think whoever spent so much money on turning that thing into what is probably a complete animal to drive needs their head looking at...although each to their own! I can hear petrol station tills ringing all day long though :O

Why? Surely the end result would be the perfect justification.

Although you are upping the boost to put strain on the car, im assuming the cooling system will be uprated to take the heat away quicker, im guessing car manufacturers dont do this at stock as it means they have to up the cost with extra/bigger rads, fans, brakes etc

I wouldn't have picked that colour in all honesty but I do quite like it. Nice to see something interesting on here too. I hope you really enjoy it mate. :)

It is a very common change out, only needs one bracket changing for the lump to go in :)

Yes, it does have a massive radiator, g60 front mounted intercooler and a standalone oil cooler. it stays at perfect temperatures even when giving it plenty of right foot.
Currently getting a cambelt and water pump change to be extra careful.

Not sure if the alloys suit it though.. Some BBS RM's would look spot on...

What like almost everyone else in the scene has? :/

Personally I think the image splits suit it perfectly. Good purchase mate! I'm seriously considering something similar (But possibly a bit smaller and modern like a MK5 Polo 20vT :D) for the weekends

I wouldn't bat an eyelid at spending £5k on some old American Muscle car or an older luxuary barge, totally different tastes though I suppose.

You'd need a lot more than 5k to get much in the way of American muscle car!

Nice, Nice car.

I'd have different alloys, and exhaust, but the rest is spot on, sounds like a right laugh, and that's the most important bit!

Well not much more actually, take a look in the back of 'Classic American' ...you wont get an icon like a Mustang or a classic Camaro or Hemi 'Cuda for that but you can pick up '80s El Caminos, Second Gen Firebird Trans Ams with the 6.6l engine for around £6-£7k now and all sorts of Cadilacs and other interesting cars.

You'll no doubt want to spend some more money on it once you have it though, well I would.
